Great report Cliff sounds like some good fishing! What are you guys seeing for surface temps up in your country?

I feel sad when Cliff boats in one day more than I've boated in the last several years combined :-(

I got out alone again this morning.

Very slow bite everywhere that I went and mostly small fish yet.

Managed to boat 19 walleyes in one spot that had quite a few fish and kept my limit of 13-1/2 to 16-3/4 inch walleyes for supper tonight!

The walleyes there were in 26 to 31 feet of water. All were caught on a lindy  rig with  green and orange glow beads and leeches as bait.

Almost no fish were seen in about 6 other spots that I checked out!

Use a heavier sinker to fish more vertical?

That is exactly what I do Dell! I use a 3/4 oz. sinker most of the time.

That being said, I still get times that the bite is just not serious enough and I miss a lot of hook sets!

It sometimes helps to drop some slack line out as soon as you feel the first hint of a bite, wait a few seconds, and then feel for the fish before you set the hook.

Heavier weight for deeper water yes , lighter for shallower, i like to use the minimum weight  needed to maintain bottom contact ,the wind will dictate sinker size too.I was always told go as light as possible, but what i feel is key is maintain no more than 45 degree of angle on youre line while trolling ,boat control is key in lindy riggin!

Nice fish, Cliff! I always like big fish pictures because the bigger the fish, the bigger the grin. I saw you out in my neighbor about noon. Glad you had a good day. Looks like everyone in the boat is happy.
