New to metro

Hey there guys, I have recently moved to the metro area (Bloomington).  I primarily bass fish and previously fished pools 5-5a.  So I am a lost puppy when it comes to fishing the lakes up here. I am going to venture out and fish from shore today. If anyone up here ever has an open seat I would be more than happy to throw in some gas money and good conversation! Until then tight lines!

The DNR has two places to get great info. 

This one gives you detailed info by lake including maps and fish counts for every type of fish you would want to go after.  http://www.dnr.state.mn.us/lakefind/index.html

I lived in the South metro once upon a time.

My recommended Lakes for bass are in Bloomington - Bush Lake (6 hp limit) outside that area I reccomend Stieger , Zumbra,Auburn, and Minnetonka in the West. Jane and Demontraville In the NE metro. 

Smallies are good on the Mississippi from the Area north of the Ford Dam as well as between Champlin and Monticello (beware of the many many Rocks).
