Just curious if anyone knows if Collinwood Lake has started to green up at all and what the approx. clarity has been on the lake?

I was out there on Monday, it was pretty clear. I could see bottom in about 6', I was surprised to see it that clear with the wind blowing. I'm sure it'll green up like it usually does though.

No prob. Hopefully you had some better luck then I did. Was a really nice day to be out. But then again it's always nice when you can get out.

One thing about Collinwood to mention as well is that the fish are not tasting very good out of there right now. I have heard multiple reports of fish being thrown away because of stinky fillets. At least 4 different reports of this so far.

Just an FYI.

Avid,

Any idea as to the cause of the stinkin fillets?  Could it maybe be due to some type of algae bloom?  Just wondering if it is something temporary or if this is the the new Lake C?  Any updates on this?

Had a nice outing at the new Hutch. area "aviary"(Lake Washington) a few weeks ago.  Much more bird watching action than fish action.

COLLINWOOD walleyes have been that way for decades. size never seem to be an issue either. I ate big wallys that were very good and smaller wallys that stank! really  weird. winter or summer too. would be nice ti know why. if its that some spend most of their lives in deeper water and some live in the weeds.
