Opening weekend on the Gunflint Trail

Something to think about if you are going to be fishing this area this week or next. The water temps were cold I do not know how cold but my leeches did not want to move much. The guys who came out a little later than me with minnows hammered the walleyes, while I struggled with my leeches. I was in 3-5 feet of water. 

I fished many of little streams from highway 1 east and caught good number of little brook trout on Friday. I was not hiking in very far or fishing any stream very long. One thing to note is the there is a bridge that is out the crosses the Temperance River near the Sawbill Trail.
