Franconia area river levels

Anybody know how the water levels are in the Franconia area? I'm going to put in at Franconia for the opener this weekend. Thanks.

I can't speak for franconia, but I checked the boom site access in stillwater and the water looks to be about 1.5 ft low.

I was out Saturday evening around Franconia and I would say it's close to normal. I thought it would be pretty high with all the rain we have gotten.

Channel cats provided a decent bite. Thanks to structure scan I have found a lot of new spots I never knew where out there, which provided us with a fun night of fishing.

I fished it on Monday morning and the water was up 2-3 feet and the clarity was down which made fishing tough but I did find a few willing panfish and walleye and sauger.  Jig and minnow was out fished by the b fishing ring  bodies with a paddle tail, dragged and hopped along the bottom.  It may have to do with the larger profile and brighter colors.  Caught a crappie on a shad rap while trolling which was kind of fun.

      application has been submitted. 👍   Leech......i've shot my share of bear......it be nice to get another but not the end of the world if i dont. i get to spend time with my son...its just another way to get into the woods. i've been at it since about 1976......that rush when you walk up to the bait and see the logs scattered all over and bait gone just doesnt get old for me.   i had to get rid of 1 rug because of bad tanning. i have another rug, shoulder mount and made 3 pillows from 2 different bear hides. my biggest issue has become what to do with the hide....that seems more of a trophy then the meat. i inquired 1 year at the Alex decoy show when there were a couple hide guys there and they didnt seem to interested. 🙄 i have no other ideas for the hide.......approval from the wife is not even negotiable!!!!!

      Something in May, like around Opener.  Could be white knuckles for boaters that weekend with the way things stalled out since the contest started and how thick it still is.   Highs in the 50’s coming but lows are around freezing and not a lot of wind in the extended forecast.   I’ll tell  ya what, if you change from 4/26 and it hits that date, I’ll buy ya some mythical FM beer.  And you know where you can find it. 😉. But don’t change on my account - this is still a free country!

      I caught the 10pm news the other night. They said that starting next week Minnesota will be above average for temps. I give them a 33% chance of getting that right.
