Question

Posted

Thinking about new electronics. Have always had lowrance but really like the I pilot link for the trolling motors bird has. Any thoughts?

Motorguide and lowrance have similar integration as bird and minnkota. I have the motorguide xi5 pinpoint with the gateway kit connecting my lowrance hds units creating a powerful combination.

i have been using it for a couple weeks now and it's amazing.

I like finding structure with the side imaging, then set the cursor position on a good looking spot the set the anchor point "at cursor" and the motor will drive right over to the spot and anchor.

It's also very nice to set a precise speed when trolling.

I have the Humminbirds with iPilot and just love it.   The follow the contour feature is brilliant!   I use the electrics to steer and the kicker to propel me when trolling and it makes it a lot easier to stay in the depth you want.    Spot lock, navigate to waypoint, follow a track.  All good stuff and very useful.
