Cloquet ine north of winton?

How far up does the road get plowed?Do they go up to cedar or???Small lakes north of there would like to ice fish but don't have a sled to go.Wondering if they plow cloquet line at all???c63

They used to go up end but that was 12 years ago.

I assume locals plow it mostly so it's hit or miss. If you're looking to make the treck into Range, don't bother. Word got out about what that lake once was and is now a shell of what it used to be. It's a popular college kid lake that gets pounded these days.

I liked Range Lake but when I fished it we were one of the few. Little Long was our close to town lake for gills and crappies. Fenske Lake was a solid crappie lake and had some big gills. Bass Lake was another good crappie lake but it seemed to get pounded. Burgo was another good lake.

I can't say with absolute certainty but I would prepare yourself based on this:

I took notice last fall when I was there that the road had ATV signs on it (as in ATV trail) once you got to Cedar Lake. I took that to mean it wouldn't be maintained as a road in the winter. Not that it's maintained in the summer either! That road needs some fill bad! Several stretches of exposed rocks that are pretty chunky.

I'll say I wouldn't try it without a sled until you know for sure.

Ive been driving it this past fall well past cedar with a 4 door sedan and 14foot fishing boat but I did have to dodge alot of rocks/stumps.............still wondering how the folks get in and out if their residence up there after the first big snow?(Could be only go there during the summer/fall?)don't know for sure.There are several great fishing lakes up the line still.Not all fished out!!!!!c63
