My headlamp somehow found its way under my boot and didn't come through very well. A while back you posted a recommendation for a headlamp. Can you post again? Is there a local shop selling them?

Anybody know what happened to the search feature? It has disappeared from the top line.

The search function is on the right at the top. You might have the right side turned off and that is why it seems missing.

A nice and very bright lamp that is adjustable as far as focus and brightness is the LED Lenser H7 but it is on Amazon.

LED Lenser makes a good product. The H7 is what I have, it's an adjustable beam, adjustable brightness unit. I'm sure they have something more power-efficient or more powerful by now. The only knock I have on this product is that it does not have red LEDs for saving a guy's night vision while keeping tabs on the rods in the holders in the summer.

Had to pull out and double check. I thought it was made by Coast but it was not. Great little lamp !!!

I've owned lots of headlights, and the best I've found is the Zebralight H600w Mk II 18650 XM-L2 Headlamp Neutral White. You can pick it up along with 2 18650's and a charger for under $100 and it will kick out 1020 Lumens when you need it (no misprint - 1020 Lumens!), or a lot less for a LONG time. And it's waterproof and no silly battery pack/cord. I've got a few friends who all picked them up after seeing mine, and they love 'em as well! Worth a look, anyways.

Big Fan of LED Lenser

No search function for me anywhere on either FM or HSO

Do/can you see the ads on the right side of this page? They need to be seen so the search will function (?). crazy

Search will be between log in and the ads on the right side.

Black Diamond Storm. So far it's waterproof, bright, compact and has lots of easily adjusted settings....

It disappears and reappears depending on where you are. The only way I have been able to use it consistently is to log out, type in your search, and when it says you must be logged in I log in. Very much a pain in the butt. And because of the split happening, about 50% of the search results end up a dead end because they are no longer in that particular database.

Yeah...splitting a perfectly good, and mostly functioning HSOforum into two barely working websites In the search of more money was a great idea... crazy

Clam makes a very nice LED head lamp, that can detach to become a hand held. Very nice, and battery last a long long time..

I love my Black diamond headlamps. Waterproof and super tuff. If you keep an eye out you can find them super cheap.

My page looks like Mr. Almquist's. whistle

All the above are good. I have been using the Interstate headlamp. Has hi, low and flashing light and you can zoom it in and out. Very bright when ya want it to be. Cheap too.

I believe you, but I wanted to show that it is not being overlooked, in some cases it is just not there. Maybe it comes with green names. smile

Seems to run forever, even in the cold. Since the light is also the heatsink, the battery stays a bit warmer than other lights. And honestly I only usually run it at 150 lumens or lower, and it'll run 10 hours at 150 or 30 hours on the highest medium setting (65 lumens). But when you need some serious light, it's there for you! And the quality of the light is much better than any headlamp I've owned - neutral color & a good amount of spill to go along with the reach of the brighter center.

Haydays can be fun but some times a picker nightmare to get in and out of.  I like the Outlaw grass drag and swap meet in Princeton,  MN a few weeks before Haydays.  If you don't find it there you can always then check Haydays.  I've found must everything I ever needed at the Outlaws swap!

Make sure the unit is firmly in the cradle. Sometimes it seems in place and a loose connection will occur with sporadic power. The other thing is, if he has a micro USB map chip in, remove it. If it's corroded Sometimes these units will shut off in attempt to not cause electrical harm

I'll put new plugs on the top of my list; cheap fix.  One of the plugs had the threads worn off on the cap on top and it stuck in the rubber cap.  Thought this may have been part of the problem but a new (used plug) with a tip cap didn't change the issue.  The change in one plug is why I have mixed plugs in the picture.   Lots of shopping to do at Haydays next fall - new belt, plugs, track, ski spindles/ bushing, clutch puller for a start.

Wow. Still looks like winter up there! I was in the Alex, area yesterday and most of the lakes were almost ice free.

Went out this evening for a couple hours. Three of us only caught 4 crappies, small perch and a small bass. Ice is getting a little soft, but still 22" and tight to the shore where we were. Going out later tomorrow, caught more a dusk last time out.
