Just thought it looks like something you might see coming to your call, across the river!  🤣

Try contacting Cody Hill.  He’s always on the fish and based in Pelican Rapids, just southeast of Moorhead.   https://www.chillguideservice.com/about-cody-and-chill   Those are your closest lakes.  Otherwise, like mentioned, the Red River is your best bet.  I’ve never fished that area though so I can’t give you any starters.

i'm going to be there for a couple of weeks, will have facilities but I'm more than likely to be doing just  catch and release so don't mind what i catch.

Well, we had our first one in over a year.  I didn't think anyone would be interested in stem cell research so he went away!

Welcome to the FM site. Lot of questions that would be helpful, to help you. How long are you staying? If only a few days and you have the money a local guide is going to be your best bet to get on fish.  Are you just doing catch and release or are you going to have a place to clean and cook fish?   In the Red river your more then likely going to target catfish. Hopefully a few of our members who live out that way can chime in on some cat fishing setups or spots.  Good luck.

I am visiting from the UK to the Moorhead area in the coming weeks and would like to do some fishing while there.  I am trying to find info about what is available to me. I have a variety of gear that i could bring, but am a little restricted by weight limits on the flight. I understand the red river of the north is close by and as the land of 10000 lakes, I am sure there are plenty to fish in.  I appreciate that I will need a local license and I understand I can get this on-line. I would welcome any tips regarding locations and fishing tackle required in this area. I am happy to fish from the shore.  I have also searched for guides in the area but with little success, again and info would be welcome.  Thanks

That's a wrap on my ice season, have to head back to the cities for a while. Fished the last 3 nights and we managed to get a handful of crappies every night. Here's some pictures over the last 3 outings. Cool fog over the lake tonight. Kept a few for a meal.

I started going to Haydays when I moved to Blaine in the mid-80's.  Waldoch was very convenient from Blaine.  I quit going for several years when they moved it to North Branch.  I've gone there the last 3 years and like the new layout better.  Parking and admission has gotten very pricey but the event offers a lot to do and see.  Now that I moved up north, Princeton would probably be further for me than North Branch, but maybe I will give it a try.
