this morning my friend caught what was clearly a small musky on red lake on the north shore, anyone else ever catch any of them? I've never even heard of them being in there?

Been fishing it since the 70's & it's the first I've heard of.

I'd put a picture up but can't figure out how off my phone but it was 100% a musky, small about 20 inches or so. Must not be a large population of them?

About once a year or so something like this is reported. When the DNR looks at them they say it is a small northern. It is usually a fish caught in the northern part of the lake where there is more bog stained water and the coloring is different.

I'm not saying that it isn't a Muskie but this has happened quite a few times through the years.

How do I get pictures off my phone on here?

We caught three small northern this weekend and one was very colorful and I could see how somebody would think it is a musky. Not saying yours is not, maybe mine was...but it seems unlikely. The coloring just looked funny. I do not think that it was a musky.

Tried it a couple times and it won't load it, knew I shouldn't have swooped it out of the hole that last time!
