A little help finding an access?

Hi everyone. Last weekend me and a friend tried to get to the winter access at bayport the usual way so we could fish shanty town, but at the railroad tracks the road was blocked off. How are people getting on the ice right now? Thank you

Lakeside Park on the MN side. Not sure about WI side. Shouldn't be too long before the winter access opens... Hopefully.

There is a thread for this topic but, the only access in on the WI side which is Ferry Landing. I am told the Bayport access opens when the ice is thick enough to drive on. The WI access is tricky right now because of the warm days we had. The shore is melted in most spots at the landing and you can't even get on with a vehicle. If you go 75ft. south it gets better and you can drive your car on the ice safely.....instead of 2 feet of open water till' you get to the good ice. Good luck....

The lack of public access from Stillwater south is deplorable. With the shear volume of water and shoreline, there should be an access at least every couple of miles! Really irritating.

Is there a parking fee at Lakeside Park? There was an honor box and mention of a $10 fee. Does that apply in the winter?

No, that's for boat launching.
