Chad, looks like you had a nice day out there, nice to see those still. How much ice did you find?

That is a good looking fish, nice work. Great video

Awesome fish Chad. A 30.5" is something to be proud of, especially on the pond. They are tanks there this year. I got a 24.5 and a 27.5 today that looked like they were going to pop! It's also very good to see the 9-11'' eyes this winter. I also got a handful of those this afternoon.

You could see that was a heckuva fish when you set. Great job playing it ....like you've been there before. Nice!

Wow. That's a fat girl there. That thing was thumping your rod good.

Thanks guys had 10-12 inches on the north end. It's great to see some healthy big fish out there along with a lot of smaller 8-10 inchers

How was the snow cover for taking out a sled? Almost melted my Hyfax last year in one day! frown

WOW, nice vid, you stayed nice and calm, I would have come unglued when you got her out of the hole!!

UN-(dirty word) believable!! That is a pig!

Not a lot of snow on the lake leech around a inch. I am glad I got her on video and got some good pics but ya I am definitely thinking about getting a replica done.

Thanks for the snow report. I have such a hard time trying to setup and do a good video. Either the cams not on or I don't have it ready, angles off, fog up the lens, stand up to fight fish and block the cam etc, etc! cry

Doing video solo is definitely a pain in the winter with fogging especially with the gopro water proof cases. I use a skeleton case with handle bar mounts on the poles for inside the portable and for outside or underwater I use the waterproof case and apply rain x to help with the fogging. A large supply of batteries is a must especially when using wifi they don't last long

Wow, great catch!! Congrats

Well you let me know if you need a camera guy to help the next time you go! You seemed so lonely out their all by yourself! frown

That was exciting just watching that rod tip practically touching your toes haha.

If you ever have an opportunity to get the flex clamp mount that thing is all you need when ice fishing! I forgot I bought one over the summer so I was messing around with a roll bar mount last weekend on red then realized I had the clamp mount with, throw a camera on that baby and clamp it to anything camera stays solid the whole time, definitely glad I remembered that!

My 30 year-old Indy 500 (over 8,000 miles) has been having a mid-range bog for many years now.  It is worse on warm days and when the engine is warmer.  The sled runs fine up to about 1/4 throttle, then runs extremely rich up to 3/4 throttle.  The spark plugs are dark brown (better brown than down?) but not saturated.  8 years ago I moved the clips on the jet needles from the 3rd to the 2nd groove to lean the mixture and it helped for a while.   Should I move the clips to the top groove (temporary solution)? Could the jet needles, needle jets, and/or the main jets be warn and need replacement?   Don't think I will have time to tear the carbs apart this season for a rebuild so I may just band-aid the problem.

I think that Mike89 picked April 26 two hours before you, jparrucci.  Is that correct Mike89?

My last hide I gave to my Taxidermist friend to make what ever he liked out of it.   I've got a few fun Bear hunt stories to be told.  All 3 of us our first year stupidly tracking a blood trail in the dark together and getting lost, luckily smelled the bait making circles and got out. 🫣 Flash lights dying, deep in a swamp following a blood trail in the dark, the one who stayed at the bait called us back in!  We learned our second bear! Lol. 😞  Downing a wounded charging bear with the last bullet when tracking, no lie! 😬    Have had my fun!  🥳

I remember that kegel… stuff….!   just finished my post work latte as a matter of fact!  Only the second case of those I’ve ever bought.     I’d get Mike something better.

I still have hope. Put me down for my dad's birthday in April 26. Come on warm weather.

application has been submitted. 👍   Leech......i've shot my share of bear......it be nice to get another but not the end of the world if i dont. i get to spend time with my son...its just another way to get into the woods. i've been at it since about 1976......that rush when you walk up to the bait and see the logs scattered all over and bait gone just doesnt get old for me.   i had to get rid of 1 rug because of bad tanning. i have another rug, shoulder mount and made 3 pillows from 2 different bear hides. my biggest issue has become what to do with the hide....that seems more of a trophy then the meat. i inquired 1 year at the Alex decoy show when there were a couple hide guys there and they didnt seem to interested. 🙄 i have no other ideas for the hide.......approval from the wife is not even negotiable!!!!!

aw that date is fine and maybe someday we will have beer!!!

Something in May, like around Opener.  Could be white knuckles for boaters that weekend with the way things stalled out since the contest started and how thick it still is.   Highs in the 50’s coming but lows are around freezing and not a lot of wind in the extended forecast.   I’ll tell  ya what, if you change from 4/26 and it hits that date, I’ll buy ya some mythical FM beer.  And you know where you can find it. 😉. But don’t change on my account - this is still a free country!

I caught the 10pm news the other night. They said that starting next week Minnesota will be above average for temps. I give them a 33% chance of getting that right.
