Crappieflop54 Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 Just curious if anyone has been chasin eyes on Island yet? Have never fished it during hardwater and was thinking of giving it a shot this week. Not looking any special spots just general reports. Thanks all! Quote
Northlander Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 Not many ice walleyes on Island except for by the bridge. I do later on when the crappies start schooling up but a snow machine is a must. Quote
Crappieflop54 Posted December 10, 2014 Author Posted December 10, 2014 Thanks for the input Northlander. Have you fished/or had much luck up at the whiteface? Not looking for any crazy details. I just like to have an outlook due to lack of time to get out and go there myself with school/work. Thanks again! Quote
'we have more fun' FishingMN Creators Surface Tension Posted December 10, 2014 'we have more fun' FishingMN Creators Posted December 10, 2014 With no resorts and no plowed roads you don't find many people on Island Lake. I used to put my perm out there and was about the only one on the lake. I'd look for mid lake humps next to deep water. Not any hump or bar though. It should have boulders mixed as opposed to a plain sand or gravel bar. If you fish it in open water you might have a few areas in mind just like that. Fish the bottom of the break and move onto it is as the sun dips. Quote
