The craziest thing about this is that it is not even the first time I remember a moose being spotted around Lanesboro.

Back in the mid-1980s a moose was spotted in Fillmore County, just a little earlier in the fall. That one ended up getting shot by a deer hunter. IIRC the shooter claimed the moose attacked him, but the slug entry wound was in its hindquarter. laugh I also seem to remember hearing that he had the bad idea to load it the moose in his truck after shooting it and drive in to town to show it off.

Hopefully this moose stays north of the Iowa-Minnesota border until shotgun season down there is done, and he finds his way back to northern Minnesota.
