Marcum Shot?

My marcum was working great, took it out yesterday in the cold and put out tip-up with everything working and walked back to my minnow bucket to grab a fathead and get back to my marcum and it's not working. Turned it off and back on and now it's a constant beep and the screen doesn't display anything. Read on the web it could be a shot motor.

My questions are:

Has this happened to anyone else?

Emailed marcum and they want me to send it in with a 1-2 week turnaround. Is there any shops I can physically bring it to and get it fixed sooner than 1-2 weeks?

I posted it in this forum because you guys have been a great with info over the past few years. I appreciate it.

Which unit? Check battery and all connections first.

I already checked the battery- just makes a constant beeping sound when I turn it on now. I even plugged it into the wall for power instead of using the battery and it still makes the noise. It's the marcum lx 3tc. Don't really want to send it in and be out of a fish finder for 1-2 weeks but beggars can't be choosers

Bring it in to Marcum. They are located in new hope and their customer service is great. Many times they can fix it while you wait. Call ahead first and see if they can do that.

A quick google search indicates you probably have a bad motor, yep if you don't want to wait I would drive it over to Marcum and either wait if possible or arrange to pick it up when its done.

I have the Lx-5 right now and it isn't working either. They told me to check battery, and that is not the issue. It turns on and the flasher is spinning, but the lights go out after a second. They were going to email me info on shipping, but I might have to drive down to the cities as well. I've heard good things about service through them. Let me know what you find out, being I am stuck with my dads backup Vexilar right now....bleaahh.

Think the moral of this story is .... "Something is better than nothing" Always keep an eye out on The List by a Man Named Craig for a cheap backup; can't imagine being without one anymore....what did they do in the old days?

So I sent it in to marcum today. They claim it should be a week before I get it back. I'll let you know how long it takes and how much it costs (not under warranty anymore)

I just called them as well. Only came with 2 year warranty. Mine is 3 yo. $85.

My marcum was bought in Decmeber of 2012, although I didn't have the receipt anymore. Marcum still fixed my lx 3tc for free and got it back to me in 3 days. I would say that's pretty good customer service.

I have an lx-3 and a lx-9 and they have been awesome every time I had an issue.
