Has anyone purchased a tip up alert that sends an alarm to a transmitter in the house? Any preferences or reviews?

Posted

I used the Blue Tipz last year. had two of them set up and they send the signal to my phone. I liked that i could have a different tone for each location. The bluetooth signal seems to be pretty strong and i never didnt get a fish on tone.

X2

I prefer my Bluetipz over my Strike Sensors.

I was looking at a few online and saw the "Tip Up Pager" that sends it to a transmitter in the fish house for about half the money. Looks like everyone has had good luck with the bluetipz though, so I might lean that way.

I have run the Strike Sensors for over 15 years and although they work decent would switch to blue tipz but my phone

(Casio commando 4g, toughest smart phone by Verizon) is not compatible.

Anyone seen the 2 pack for less than $69.99 (maybe Black Friday sales coming up etc.)!?

You'll see them in bait shops too. Just check phone compatibility first.

Didn't see any list of compatible devices...but I have an iPhone so I assume I'll be ok.

Are the local bait shops getting the same price for them as the manufacturer HSOforum ($39.95 & $69.95)!?

I think I paid $40 for a pair of them at the Ice Show last winter.

If you or a buddy are going this year that's where I would try first.

I think they are compatible with most iphones. I downloaded the app on my 2 year old ipad and it's not compatible.

My buddy got them for $20 each too but not at the ice show.

They are not compatible with very many Droid phones. Their customer service is horrible.

When I was trying to figure out if my phone was compatible I made multiple attempts to get an answer from them and I finally gave up. They kept telling me they were checking with one of their people to see if it was and would never get back to me.

Where did he get them $20 ea.?

They work with my Droid (HTC one)

I checked the app for my Galaxy 5 phone and it is not compatible with that either. Never mind didn't realize you had to have the Bluetooth on and it works fine now.

I use the blinking red light made by FRABILL it does not make sound but you can see it even in the worst conditions!

I'm going to try the Strike Sensors. I've read mixed reviews on them but I figure its worth a try.

I use the Strike Sensors and think they are the best system out there. I would think something better will come along shortly using our smart phone technology to it's fullest, but as of now I will stick with the Strike Sensors. I would get a nice travel/storage case for them. Some complain about battery usage, but it really is not bad and I use them most every time Walleye or Pike fishing. A seasons worth of batteries is no more then a trip or two worth of minnows.

I see they sell a hard storage case that holds the pager and 6 units and a soft bag that holds the pager and 3 transmitters. I was going to order the soft bag as I don't plan on having more then 2 or 3 units.

Would you suggest I order the hard case?

I think soft is fine unless you beat on the stuff during travel. The sending and receiving units have been durable for me.

Ok thanks.

I think that Mike89 picked April 26 two hours before you, jparrucci.  Is that correct Mike89?

My last hide I gave to my Taxidermist friend to make what ever he liked out of it.   I've got a few fun Bear hunt stories to be told.  All 3 of us our first year stupidly tracking a blood trail in the dark together and getting lost, luckily smelled the bait making circles and got out. 🫣 Flash lights dying, deep in a swamp following a blood trail in the dark, the one who stayed at the bait called us back in!  We learned our second bear! Lol. 😞  Downing a wounded charging bear with the last bullet when tracking, no lie! 😬    Have had my fun!  🥳

I remember that kegel… stuff….!   just finished my post work latte as a matter of fact!  Only the second case of those I’ve ever bought.     I’d get Mike something better.

application has been submitted. 👍   Leech......i've shot my share of bear......it be nice to get another but not the end of the world if i dont. i get to spend time with my son...its just another way to get into the woods. i've been at it since about 1976......that rush when you walk up to the bait and see the logs scattered all over and bait gone just doesnt get old for me.   i had to get rid of 1 rug because of bad tanning. i have another rug, shoulder mount and made 3 pillows from 2 different bear hides. my biggest issue has become what to do with the hide....that seems more of a trophy then the meat. i inquired 1 year at the Alex decoy show when there were a couple hide guys there and they didnt seem to interested. 🙄 i have no other ideas for the hide.......approval from the wife is not even negotiable!!!!!

Something in May, like around Opener.  Could be white knuckles for boaters that weekend with the way things stalled out since the contest started and how thick it still is.   Highs in the 50’s coming but lows are around freezing and not a lot of wind in the extended forecast.   I’ll tell  ya what, if you change from 4/26 and it hits that date, I’ll buy ya some mythical FM beer.  And you know where you can find it. 😉. But don’t change on my account - this is still a free country!

I caught the 10pm news the other night. They said that starting next week Minnesota will be above average for temps. I give them a 33% chance of getting that right.
