What flasher(s) play well with a Marcum LX7?

Pretty simple question, hoping some of you that are more experienced with flashers can give some advice.

I already own an LX7 (love it, btw) but I've managed to get more of my friends into ice fishing the past couple years and I'm tired of being the nice guy and letting them use my flasher, thus going flasherless myself smile

If you owned an LX7, what brand/model would you be looking to buy to fish them side by side? Doesn't need to be a super fancy model or anything either, but I've experienced interference from other nearby flashers before and I want to avoid that at all costs.

Thanks!

From what I understand Humminbird runs on a different frequency than vex and Marcum. I have an ICE-55 and a LX-5. I use both of them in my flip over all of the time. Not even a little bit of interference on either of them when they are running side by side. I have a buddy that turns his is ICE-35 on next to my ICE-55 and I can never clear it up perfectly. There's always a flash constantly going clockwise around the screen. It drives me crazy, but it doesn't bother him. I bought the LX-5 just so we can fish next to each other and I have a different option depending on what my fishing partner is running.

+1 on the Humminbird. Buddy has one and he doesn't get any interference when we're fishing next to each other.

I suggest getting a vexilar and run the risk of a bit of interference now and again. It is a better tool for marking fish immediately under the ice.

When setup correctly ( which is easy to do ) any Marcum or Showdown will run just fine next to a LX7, Humminbird ( flashers ) will to since they use different frequencies.

Uhhhh NO.

All have some type of noise/signal rejection built in, but Humminbird uses a different frequency so it isn't an issue at all. I have an HB and fish next to Marcum's, Vex's, and even a Lowrance Ice Machine all the time w/out any issues.

+1 on the humminbird with it running on different frequency. I have an ice-45 and the rest of my friends have vexilars and i never have issues with interference.

You should have no problems that that hit of the IR buttons won't clear up.

Thanks for the responses guys. I never knew Hbirds were on a totally different frequency. I've never used one before, but I've always wanted to try one of those anyhow. So maybe I'll just go that route!

I use a FL-18 and fish with a friend who was the LX-7, and it takes a little bit of messing around to get rid of the interference. Once you have both of them zeroed in though, its really not a big problem.

In those years Polaris was known to put buna tipped needles in there sleds. They get a ring around the seat and don't seal shut. But if that would be the case your problem would be with the motor shut off and filling the crankcase with gas. If your plugs are brown that is were they should be. I wouldn't drop that needle down to the last grove. I would replace them before I did that. I have never had a carb with that setting. Have you looked at your clutches? They could be dirty or have a bad roller.  Does it bog as it's accelerating or when you hit the throttle?

but if he really wants I can change the date..

As soon as I started reading mind went to needles and seats.  You might want to try just replacing those first?  I’ve only done that once before in my life but it made the difference.  A carb refresh in 8,000 miles seems reasonable.

Good luck smurfy!  On getting drawn, I mean!   If it comes down to it, I know a guy that might be interested in a nice hide.

My 30 year-old Indy 500 (over 8,000 miles) has been having a mid-range bog for many years now.  It is worse on warm days and when the engine is warmer.  The sled runs fine up to about 1/4 throttle, then runs extremely rich up to 3/4 throttle.  The spark plugs are dark brown (better brown than down?) but not saturated.  8 years ago I moved the clips on the jet needles from the 3rd to the 2nd groove to lean the mixture and it helped for a while.   Should I move the clips to the top groove (temporary solution)? Could the jet needles, needle jets, and/or the main jets be warn and need replacement?   Don't think I will have time to tear the carbs apart this season for a rebuild so I may just band-aid the problem.

I think that Mike89 picked April 26 two hours before you, jparrucci.  Is that correct Mike89?

My last hide I gave to my Taxidermist friend to make what ever he liked out of it.   I've got a few fun Bear hunt stories to be told.  All 3 of us our first year stupidly tracking a blood trail in the dark together and getting lost, luckily smelled the bait making circles and got out. 🫣 Flash lights dying, deep in a swamp following a blood trail in the dark, the one who stayed at the bait called us back in!  We learned our second bear! Lol. 😞  Downing a wounded charging bear with the last bullet when tracking, no lie! 😬    Have had my fun!  🥳

I remember that kegel… stuff….!   just finished my post work latte as a matter of fact!  Only the second case of those I’ve ever bought.     I’d get Mike something better.

I still have hope. Put me down for my dad's birthday in April 26. Come on warm weather.
