Anyone hit the Rum this past summer or recently this fall? Might give it a go for smallies one of these warmer days.

I tried Saturday for a few hours in Anoka. Surface temps were 44*F. Didn't get a bite

Thanks for the input, Craigums! If I may ask, what types of baits were you throwing?

I've had a good amount of luck on finesse jigs and smaller tubes this time of year.

Thanks!

Got out yesterday on the Rum.  This is the latest (2 days before Thanksgiving) that I have ever been on the Rum or open water.  The river is 6' higher than two weeks ago.  Only caught 2 small walleyes but still great to get out one last time.  My friend took his boat a 16' with 50 hp motor!!!  No problem at all navigating.  We could have waterskied if we had wanted to.

Was out on the Rum this past weekend, east of Princeton. Good Lord is the water high!  Is there a website where you can monitor the flow on the Rum?
