How did Eli Manning win 2 super bowls?

Posted

Kinda wondering the same thing. I would probably take Ponder over him at this point.

The Lions look like they could be really good, just a question if they can hold it together and Caldwell can coach them up.

how was ponder a first rd draft pick.

Defense and LUCK!!

He's brutal....

He had a great defense those years and a different offense. The funny thing is the Giants went from the offense we are running under Turner and switched to the WCO that we were running since Childress was hired. That just goes to show you how bad that offense can be if you don't have the right QB and Eli looks like he is having a hard time making the adjustments.

I want to know if there is anyone who enjoys listening to Chuck on Monday night? I wore out the mute button when he talked.

Posted

According to Big Dave the Giants didn't have a good defense when they won the Super Bowls. Just check his stats that prove it.

The funny part is beginning of last year how there was controversy on which Manning is better, there were people saying how Eli was the better QB. Had to laugh at that one, he's got more rings but like what was said earlier that was defense and a lot of luck.

Lions and Calvin look mean, we better just double/triple that guy and make everyone else beat us.

Eli won't be a Giant next year. Time to start over in NYC

Posted

I've never liked Eli, he started out his career as a whiny POS and shows that's all he's good for.

Posted

LOL.

So hes a 2 time super bowl MVP. Joining the likes of Star, Bradshaw, and Montana.

HE holds the NFL record for most touchdown passes in the last quarter in a season at 15.

Hes the only qb to start a superbowl with 9 straight completions.

He broke or smashed joe Montanas super record with 16 consective passes completed.

He finnished his last super bowl mvp performance by throwing a last minute td pass and finishing 30-40 with 300 and ending the playoffs with 10 tds and only 1 interception in the playoffs.

And now because hes on a talentless boring predictable offense hes no better than Ponder?

Posted

Sorry, I like Chucky. What the heck are you guys smokin comparing Manning to Ponder? Giants just plain lost their core and are sitting on their checkbook. I'm not an Eli fan, I agree he's a whiner, but he did have a couple years at the top.

And there you have it folks. When Pierdonk supports the guy you know he is a loser. How is Blackmon doing Pier??

Posted

His play has been consistent. He was never a top 5 guy, had a top 5 Defense though, a nice backfield with serious size and speed, WR group that has never been terrible, or even questionable. If you watch a tape from 2006 he looks the same. I've always preferred Phillip Rivers.

I agree Pier. Now they are trying to change his mechanics? You don't win 2 Super Bowls and put up those kind of numbers with luck as the driving force.

I wish pier would move to the twins thread and try to support gardy for the 13, 14th time.

He's a Flacco type but worse. I've always thought he was a #11-#15ish in the league any given year maybe one in there where he was around a #7.

Anyone see that Crowell guy for the Browns? Guy looked like a stud in the preseason and did again week 1. At least they scored with that pick....

^^^This^^^

Pier is SO WRONG on just about every "take" he has it's laughable.

Don't trust me...?? Go back and look at his prediction for the Vikes game against the Rams. Scroll back further and enjoy the Blackmon "takes"!!

--Blackmon

You've provided me with many laughs over the years, Pier...too bad you disappear for months at a time.

Ive ceratainly supported Gardy more than 13 or 14 times blue_healer_guy.

grin

And now I hope I'm right again and they re-up him for 5 more years $$$...lol

As far as the bet the FARM remark ummm that was a shot at our resident farmer Bucksutherland "more on Buck later today so stay tuned" as if that was a gotcha Pier moment anyway. Ill call it a segway/baiting technique thingy.

Zep I miss you too your post come from the heart I can appreciate that!

Hope all is well with ya!

He was right about T-Money who went on to be a SuperBowl Champion Qb!! grin

Agreed. His body language and attitude are two of his worst traits - along with his I-just-soiled-my-pants look when he makes mistakes.

So it begs the question: If you were a GM and had zero options beside having either Eli Manning or Jay Cutler be your QB, who would it be?

I think I would still go with Eli because he's got the tools, the pedigree, and mostly gets mad at himself. Cutler is more outwards with his negative behavior.

I have never had faith in Eli neither. One game he does well and then he bombs out bad in the next. I was so surprised he kept it together long enough to win the big ones. Good team behind him as you have mentioned already.

How did Eli Manning win 2 super bowls?

If you are watching the game tonight you can see exactly how he won 2 Super Bowls. If the rest of his team was half as good as he is they would win another one. Eli's accuracy is absolutely incredible.

Hold on a minute he just threw his 4th TD pass and moved into 20th place all time for touchdowns.......

Eli is good.

Yup, if 5 pics is good, then he is very good.

Those flooding problems are a sign of your needle and seat are leaking.  If the needle has a ring around the tip you can clean it if it's brass. If it has a black rubber tip then it needs to be replaced. You can clean the needle and seat with things like rubbing compound or even toothpaste I use a product called Semi chrome. It for polishing die pins. Just clean them up after polishing.

All of those Polaris sleds from that era were notorious for flooding and leaking. I've still got a 2003 XCSP 600 Edge that my daughter rides. As you noted, you need to shut off the fuel in those situations.

Yes, but it could make for an amazing walleye opener.

How old is your belt?   My old Polaris 4 wheeler with belt drive was bogging at mid range to top end last year.  Changed the belt and that problem went away.

Previous owner (22 years and 5,000 miles ago) said it was prone to flooding when sitting for a long time or trailering, so I shut the fuel off in both cases.   Primary is significantly worn.  I replaced several rollers and pins which helped.  I have two used clutches in much better condition that I could (and should) install.   It seems more like when I hit the throttle, but the bog could be from poor clutch shifting.  Will have to pay attention next time and inspect the clutches.  Thanks for the ideas.

Nope, he beat me fair and square, all his.  This weather had been depressing. As it sits now we are looking at a later than normal ice out. I hate scrabbling with docks, lifts, boats right before opener. Also limits some pre opener crappie chances.

👍 when/if i get drawn.....which i should know about june 1 we'll get in touch........both my kid and myself should get drawn.   and thanks.........with 6 preference points............i think are odds are pretty good.............there giving out 375 permits......and since we had yogi and booboo destroy my birdfeeders last spring......🙄

In those years Polaris was known to put buna tipped needles in there sleds. They get a ring around the seat and don't seal shut. But if that would be the case your problem would be with the motor shut off and filling the crankcase with gas. If your plugs are brown that is were they should be. I wouldn't drop that needle down to the last grove. I would replace them before I did that. I have never had a carb with that setting. Have you looked at your clutches? They could be dirty or have a bad roller.  Does it bog as it's accelerating or when you hit the throttle?
