What the bleep was that tonight??

You cant tell me we couldnt have somehow moved back still gotten Barr, and then still found a way to take Manziel if they really wanted him. I would gladly trade our draft for what Cleveland accomplished. We might as well have just kept Junkson or keep rolling with Ponder. At least they didnt give much up to get Barfwater.

I did find his latest highlight reel for those of you interested.

Drafttek guys giving Spielman an A for both picks tonight.

Only other team to do better was St. Louis who got the top OT prospect, and the top DT prospect.

Posted

And replaced with who? An aging, angry, bitter farmer from western Minnesota who hasn't spent a day in a National Football League career?

You cant possibly know how well this draft went(is going). Bring it back up at the end of next season. They got 2 first round picks, LB and QB, the biggest needs on this team(arguably).

Dismantling the Vikings... Like he did the Dolphins...

Good Luck!

Not another Spielman should be fired thread 10 minutes after the 1st round of the draft lol.

Zimmer got one of his guys and Norv got one of his guys in the 1st round.

Might have to wait a couple years to see how it pans out?

We haven't even seen full potential of last years 1st round picks he should of been fired for grin

They got their THRID choice at QB. Not one, and not two. They were both gone. For anyone to say they got there guy is not true. They had to settle for Bridgewater cause the other two were gone. And you can mark it right now. They will NEVER EVER win a championship with Bridgewater!

Ok, maybe they wont win with Teddy. And, maybe they will. There is no way for you to know that, especially since your football mind is so puny.

How can you possibly know that teddy wasn't their guy? I can GUARANTEE that you do NOT have inside info on the Vikings organization. That is the only for sure fact that has come out of this draft.

I am not wild about Teddy either, but I am still a Vikings fan. The first thing I wanted done was a new coaching staff. And that happened. Im going to at least give these guys a chance.

Posted

I also will give them a chance. Great too see a new coaching staff as the one we had was not getting the job done.

It will take a few years to turn this team around.

I have to believe in what they picked as I am not on the inside track of the team in regards to who will fit well with the team's plans for this season with new coaching.

These draft pic's are a shot in the dark more times than not. You can pick one that everyone believs will be the next MVP and they are not around very long. Then a player that goes in round 2 late is a great player for a team. Have to give it some time to develop most players into the teams plans.

I am glad Ol Buck is not making our picks for the draft.

They really might have got their guy with Teddy, he was the only QB that basically lived with them for almost a week straight heading into the draft, that would be one heck of a smokescreen lol. He's not my choice but there is a good chance he was theirs.

I guess it makes sense, Jared Allen is gone so Buck needs to find something else to have illogical hatred towards.

So Buck, how do you know that Teddy was #3 on their list? Do the vikes call and consult with you on their draft board? I'm just curious as to how you have this inside information that seems to contradict everything else that has been reported.

Why would they spend so much time with Teddy and so little with the other QB's if they really preferred the other 2?

If they really loved the other 2 QB's more than Teddy they could have gotten one. To out bid the Browns they'd likely have had to give up their 2nd, one 3rd, and maybe a late round pick. If they loved Johnny as much as you claim they'd have made the deal. Bortles at #3 was probably out of their reach and would have been a stupid deal in any case. To go from 8 to 2 to get in front of Jacksonville would have cost way too much if it was even possible, and Bortles is still a huge gamble. Not worth the risk at #2.

the Barr pick is just the biggest question to me...........I'd never heard of him...........or even a rumor of him. I figured they could've gotten him in the 3rd or 4th???

Okay after looking, maybe not that late as he is McShay's #25 ranked draftee..........but still that was a reach.....

Posted

Maybe the Vikes feel he was the best choice for Norv's system. He seems to check down well for the short passes but can still throw a deep ball.

Posted

He looks more like a Male model then a Linebacker though...........he better live in the weight room for the next 3 months.

Paul Allen has been slurping him for a while. He may have been a bit of a reach but the Vikes picked up a 5th round pick and got the guy they were targeting. Barr graded out as the 3 or 4th best pass rusher in the draft despite being described as "raw". He fills a need at LB. Not a terrible pick IMO

It is at #8.

You don't draft "raw" players or guys that "you can coach-up" at #9. SMH.

I'm no NFL guru, but I am pretty excited about Bridgewater. He looks to develop into a very good quarterback. I really hope the Viking's coaching staff take him in the right direction. He could very possibly be the winning future of our team.

so we shouldve drafted manziel cuz he didn't need to be "coached up" SMH

Bridgewater was the number 1 rated quarterback and number 2 rated overall behind Clowney......Bad pick at 22?

And Johnny Football is ready to plug right in and produce. He doesnt need to be "coached up" his game transfers right into the pros....Yeah right! Oh so easy LMIT

He was at 32. Manziel went at 22.

You guys it(Lmitout) doesnt actually like manziel. If it thought Johnny was the answer, why would it have been pushing so hard for him to come to minny? It hates all things Minnesota, so shouldn't it be happy with a BUST like Bridgewater?

Hmm. I think it will ride this bit to the death.

Pretty funny nonetheless.

Cordarrelle Patterson was labeled as "raw" and needing to learn the nuances of the pro game.... Sometimes you just take the players with the most upside. At #9 Barr was LB with the most upside.

I believe we're talking about a defensive position here. I get that you're a Vikings fan, and it's difficult at times, but please try to keep up.

Better work on your bullet evading skills there Neo. You're about as successful at changing the subject to avoid losing the argument as Spielman is drafting QB's: Not very.

Go home Buck you're drunk!

I would just like someone to explain to me what type of scheme we are going to run. It would seem to me that we paid Robison, Floyd, Joesph, and now Griffen. I am assuming we are gonna run a 4-3. Yet our first move is to make a reach and grab a 3-4 DE. It doesnt seem wise to me to take a project and move him out of his natural spot that early in the first round.

And someone commented on Barr and how fast he is. I could say the same thing about how WEAK he is since he could only do 17 reps. I dont mind the pick, just hated it at 9. They should have been able to find a willing partner somewhere before 20 to go back. That falls on the GM.

As for Teddy, I dont like him at all. He lacks serious velocity and he is inaccurate downfield. Why not stay put and take Mettenberger, Murray or McCarron later on.

Here are some names for ya. Joe Webb, T-jack, Dante Culdunger, Randal Cunningham, Warren Moon. Ya know what they all have in common??

You can figure it out on your own I'm sure. Add Teddy to the list.

I would much rather have lost with JM than TB.

Oh, and I almost forgot. The other thing I hate about TB is he sucks in a 2 min drill. He should fit right in to what MN fans are used to.

Posted

I am not sure about the Barr pick myself. I dont have a problem with taking him if they hadnt already signed robison and griffen to their contracts. I dont see him being a 4-3 olb and we have Greenway there anyway. There were quality DBs that would have made our roster more complete imo.

As far as that QB,if he reaches his maximum potential he is still the 4th best in the NFCN.

I remember that kegel… stuff….!   just finished my post work latte as a matter of fact!  Only the second case of those I’ve ever bought.     I’d get Mike something better.

application has been submitted. 👍   Leech......i've shot my share of bear......it be nice to get another but not the end of the world if i dont. i get to spend time with my son...its just another way to get into the woods. i've been at it since about 1976......that rush when you walk up to the bait and see the logs scattered all over and bait gone just doesnt get old for me.   i had to get rid of 1 rug because of bad tanning. i have another rug, shoulder mount and made 3 pillows from 2 different bear hides. my biggest issue has become what to do with the hide....that seems more of a trophy then the meat. i inquired 1 year at the Alex decoy show when there were a couple hide guys there and they didnt seem to interested. 🙄 i have no other ideas for the hide.......approval from the wife is not even negotiable!!!!!

Something in May, like around Opener.  Could be white knuckles for boaters that weekend with the way things stalled out since the contest started and how thick it still is.   Highs in the 50’s coming but lows are around freezing and not a lot of wind in the extended forecast.   I’ll tell  ya what, if you change from 4/26 and it hits that date, I’ll buy ya some mythical FM beer.  And you know where you can find it. 😉. But don’t change on my account - this is still a free country!

I caught the 10pm news the other night. They said that starting next week Minnesota will be above average for temps. I give them a 33% chance of getting that right.
