My family is spending the week starting Saturday on Winnie. i have 2 young boys and I want to try for some crappies in Cutfoot at somepoint during the week. i am familiar with fishing walleyes on Winni but I have no experience fishing crappies in Cutfoot. COuld someone offer some pointers. best depths, tactics, weeds, bays to target? PM me if you feel more comfortable.

any info is appreciated.

Having not been up there yet this year, I'm not sure what phase they'll be in right now. If they're spawning, just pitch a bare hook with a minner under a bobber in 2-3' along soft bottom bays. Put your trolling motor on its slowest setting and keep pitching your rig down the shoreline til ya find em. Dont be afraid to venture into Little Cut Foot too. Theres a couple community holes but there's plenty of fish to be had in other areas and they're usually more aggressive if there isn't. 30 other boats right on top of em. If its still prepawn, i'd just focus on finding em a good school of perch cuz the crappies will be tough to find. Oh, and if it's windy, forget about the crappies. Hope that helps!
