watab river

We took a ride with the boat today on a lake where the watab river runs to it.We fished a little here and there on the lake and decided to follow it through on the river We never been in this territory and the river took us for a ride we didn't expect.The water was only a foot deep so we tilted the motor and as the current took us further we had to paddle to a shore area and got out got tree branches and pushed are way back for an hour. we got so shallow at times the bottom of the boat rested on the bottom surface in the water and would get stuck in sand.It was deffinently my first experience in that kind of situation but it was really fun.I want to go back again sometime maybe with a conoo or kayak this time.

I think I know where you were....and yeah, you won't get far down the Watab in a big boat. Heck, water levels should drop pretty quick, especially if we don't get any rain, so you won't have much fun going down it in a canoe or a 'yak, either.

There are better rivers around. Hit up the Sauk or the Platte if you want to catch some fish that don't see much in the way of fishermen.
