I took vacation in March for the opener and now I'm stuck inside with no were to go. Is this a record?

As to record breakers, no, I don't think we're quite there yet, but we're getting close pretty fast!

Tomorrow and Tuesday are supposed to be up into the 80's! So let's hope that does some real damage.....to the northern ice sheets that is!!! whistle

If you look at the mn dnr website that has ice out data most every lake that has gone ice free this year is a new late ice record. Consequently those same lakes in most cases set an early ice out last year.

According to the DNR site all Morrison County lakes have set late ice out dates.

No records in northern Minnesota, yet.

Latest ice out for Burntside Lake is May 22nd, which is probably in the same ball park as Snowbank, Knife, Basswood, LaCroix, Otter Track, Gunflint, and a few others.
