Do you think this is the same deer?

Geepers that wolf is quite large...

That wolf is enourmous. By far and away the biggest of the four I have had this year. I have had some smaller deer come through that dont stand as tall as him.

What a poser this guy is. Get him on all 3 cams about every 18-20 days. Pretty sure I already have his dad or a close relative on the wall.

After all summer of getting nothing but does, cows and coons I finally got a few bucks. Nothing huge but happy to see them

I put my cameras out on 8/16. Not a single deer showed up until 9/1, which coincided with high temps dropping from the 90s to the low 70s. Couple nice bucks to start it off.

I have a doe with twin fawns, and another doe with a single fawn. All 3 fawns still have their spots.

Is anybody else noticing more than a few bucks still carrying their velvet? I have been bow hunting since I was 12 (now 29) and until this year never saw a buck with velvet once the season opened. Saw an 8, 10 and fork in velvet while duck hunting this weekend and just found a 7 pointer on my trail cam in full velvet last night right in my yard. What gives?

  • 2 weeks later...

I just got a new camera from Cabelas and decided to try it out in the back yard before I put it in the woods.

The first one is me to make sure it took at least one photo, note the time stamps crazy

What'd that camera do to you?! wink

Pretty cool Casey. Did the temp really drop 11 degrees in 15 min too or where you that close to the house the cam hadn't cooled down yet?

The camera had just come from inside the house so I am pretty sure that's why there was an 11 degree drop in that period of time.

Question-what do you think the range of your camera is in detecting motion and taking a picture?

I have two Moultrie and I was getting between 45-55 feet. Now one is down to 30 feet max. and battery says good for 130 days still.

As battery drops but still reads respectable does detection range drop?

What is your range and camera type?
