2013 Fishing Opener-

With opener a few days away, I was curious as to what peoples thoughts were on fishing tactic for the unusual spring we are having. Given the colder water temsp and late ice out...what recomendations do you have? will the eyes be done spawning yet? We typically fish Leech Lake for opener, but looks like this year we will be fishing the metro area, hoping to find warmer water temps.

Im guessing a slower presentation in warm water will be important. any other recomendations?

Shallow with a jig and minnow would be my choice.

HAHA, just kidding. I would tend to agree that minnows pitched to shallow structure/shorelines would be the way to go--especially if it's overcast and there's a little breeze blowing into the shoreline. But since my first intuitions are usually the EXACT opposite of what actually works, I'm not ruling it out! Good luck, everyone.
