Process on preserving tail fan for B-Mobile

Does any one know how to or what Chemical to use and how to do the tail fan so I can put it on a b-mobile decoy?

Remove as much flesh & fat from the base of the fan as you can. Basically everything but a layer of skin that holds the quills. Pin outside quill open from each side and cover the skin liberally w/ borax. Rub it in good. In a few weeks, it'll be dry & you'll have a decoy fan.

If you don't want to wait that long, there are fan tail kits on the market where you can just pull out the tail feathers, push them into place, & voila - instant fan. Plus they fold up and are easy to carry.
