I actually like this weather. Going through a double knee replacement, this weather keeps me calm and not wanting to be outside. It gives me time to heal. So this weather is probably m fault.

Here I thought it was my fault. I bought a new John Deere lawn mower and it's been snowing ever since.

It'll last forever at this rate.

Going to take a few more days to melt all this, that's for sure. I must have 7 new inches of heavy wet snow in my yard, and it doesn't look as though it's going to stop for a couple hours yet

Sure is pretty though, would be even prettier though if this was Dec 19th........I'm with you guys, open water time. Boat sure looks funny covered in snow in the driveway. Full cover in place though, no snow inside........it will happen........WHEN?

Had about a foot this morning when I used the snowblower, am back home for lunch and it seems to have compacted quite a bit since 6am. Even if the air temp is cold that sun does wonders

Stripping wallpaper in Albany and on the way there I counted 8 cars in the ditch.I almost turned back but the job needed to be finished today

it is going to be 72 on sunday and 60+ all next week. I will have my dock in on the 4th and be fishing from the boat. I guarantee it.

So ice should be off the lakes by opener the way this upcoming weekend is looking? (72 degrees)

I hope so Some of the deeper lakes might have a little ice yet, but I bet there will be plenty of lakes in this area that will have open water by then.

I think you are right on Rick. 60's and 70's eats up ice pretty quickly. I'm hoping to also have dock/lift and boat in at our cabin by the 4th. That would be latest in the 9 years that we have been there.

I hope so too. Even many of the smaller ponds are still locked up tight.
