Biz Nasty almost seemed to have 2nd thoughts once the gloves were off.

Yeah he definitely came out on the short end of that tilt. Rupp's a tough dude, but what I like about him is he can still play a regular shift.

You see Bissonet shank a shot at a wide open net last night too? Hands like feet...

It sounded like Biz was looking for a dance partner to spark his team and Rupp smartly declined until he took a shot at Suter. And he stepped up and pounded Biz.. Tonight I bet he'll have Staubitz chasing him around looking for a scrap.

Staubitz better be careful when he switches hands to switch carefully or he may be eating a loud straight right, he'll want to show the wild a bit that we should've held on to him, I agree completely RK, it's the Boston Bruins way, 1/2 that roster is ready willing and able and they can skate a shift maybe not so much Shawn Thornton but the rest not a problem. He lets Chara see the ice time he needs for Boston's sake, not that many want a chance at Chara, when he destroyed Hal Gil everyone in the NHL took note. Even Boogaard had 2nd thoughts.

Anyone else notice Brodziak trying to clear the puck out of our zone at the end of the game clinging to a one goal lead? Looked like a 4th line Pewee who hadn't figured out if they we left handed or right handed, just could not even come close to getting good wood on it (or graphite)...it was almost comical had it not been so close and them bearing down to tie it!

I was listening only, but man it was painful hearing "Brodziak trying to clear and can't!" Come on, you get paid how much? Lift the puck up into the neutral zone.

Finally caught the Rupp fight as I only saw parts of the game on TV last night. Wow did Rupp tag him twice.

Nice to get some other line scoring. I thought Heatley looked great with Granlund and PMB. He likes to shoot and they are great passers. Team is looking better, hopefully that trend continues.

Last night was the funnest wild game ive watched all season by far. I thought they played great.. much better then a 4-3 would indicate. Heatley was a BEAST. Dont know where thats been for while. Cullen is still playing great, has been for a few games now. And i think its safe to say Zucker is on fire, hopefully he can continue. Jonas Brodin is a frickin stud... Its almost not real the way he plays for a 19 yr old. Hes got the potential to be the best defensemen in Wild history. Backstrom has been playing very well... i think hes due for one of those stinker games on this road trip, we'll see. Wild had some great chances and the power play looked good for once.

Even better than that one was when Stoner goes to clear and his stick comes right out of his hands. Announcers were dumbfounded by that one.

We're slowly working the kinks out. Heatley is finally getting into shape, this should be his last year with us. Cullen is a veteran and is playing well also, but I think this will be his last year also. Backy is playing terrific and the young kids are flying around. I see great things to come. Rupp pounding his fight opponent was good to see. We need someone that can throw down if need be. It sends a message. Brodin needs to be locked up long term ASAP.

Tonight will be a test. if we can win tonight, we'll take Sunday's game at home in revenge of Clutter and we'll be rollin' from there boys!!

If they scratch Konopka again tonight, they need to let him go imo. We have plenty of centers and we have Rupp and Kassian. He's just taking up roster space.

Agreed... Since we all of a sudden have a plethora of youth talent, might as well bring someone up.

I bet Konopka and staubitz will have a go on their first shift.. Good to see Yeo still appreciates a tough line up when he needs it. I still think they should waive Konopka. Well see if he plays defense tonight...

Wow, Wild take the loss but it wasn't due to lack of effort. They played one hell of a 3rd period, but just came up short. Keumpfer let in a couple of softies, but also made a few good saves. We keep playing like this we'll be in good shape come yr end.

Couple of nice goals, hard shots and great to see Brodziak light the lamp again finally...both he and Seto have good shots but just have not scored enough....maybe this will turn it around for Brodziak....I'm liking what I am seeing overall....corner may have been turned....we'll see.

I didnt mind the loss last night either. Wild were terrible in the first period, which might have been due to playing the night before. But they buzzed anahiem bigtime in the third and could have tied it up pretty easily a few times. Hiller is a dam good goalie and it was gonna be tough to get it past him last night. Like the way they are playing and hope they continue this way.

Hall was scratched for tonight for a "sore thigh", thinking he might have been scratched for another reason "pending headache" grin

Kind of hoping the Wild have "weathered the storm". Still a young team that hopefully keeps improving.

LA proved last year that you only need to get in. If you are playing you best hockey during the playoffs then it doesn't matter who you are playing.

Most complete game I have seen from the Wild in a long long time. All the kids looked good and we seemed to have the top 3 lines clicking. If they keep this up Cluttbuck might find himself on the 4th line with Brodziak when he gets back.

Pretty complete game last night. Holding a NHL team to no SOG in a period is pretty amazing, especially one that's full of 'young offensive stars' (I'm sick to death of that phrase being attached any time anyone mentions the Grease...). Seems like they've finally found some line combinations that click. Coyle looks more comfortable on the top line every game, I thought Granlund had his best game yet, and even Heatley looks like he has a little more spring in his step. Plus, Spurgeon is getting back to where he was and Suter is showing why they paid what the did.

Kind of an interesting dilemma with Clutterbuck and ZK. Have to like the embarrassment of riches though. How many head coaches can look at their rosters and say 'shoot - I have too many centers." Have to really wonder what will happen at the trade deadline. Do they mess with the mix if they're in a playoff spot and doing well, and trade someone like Cullen (he'd fetch a good price as well as he's playing right now) or ride it out and know you're likely letting him go for nothing at the end of the season? Fletcher might have some tough decisions to make.

Sure a lot more fun to think about that dilemma than it is hearing they just picked Chris Simon off the scrap heap...

Big step forward...great effort. Line combos are falling into place, getting players onto the line level they can compete against other team's line and skill level is important and they all look comfortable now. Nice to see defense getting involved in goal scoring.

How about Chicago!!! That game against Detroit was like a Stanley Cup finals game....Letty has found his stride and is a top NHL defenseman logging high minutes on the best team in the NHL.

The Oilers just aquired Mike Brown from Toronto, I wonder if that has anything to do with their situation with the Wild?

I like the Wild's chances tomorrow night against Chi, I don't think we could have picked a better time to play them. Time for Chi's first loss.

Yep, I was glad to see the Hawks beat the Red Wings a couple days ago. Not only did it help us in the standings, but it set us up to give Chicago their first regulation loss.

The rat was with Philly and the Oilers I believe. Bobby Hull and Tony Esposito, Eddie Belfour. Wasn't it Steve Larmar that took out the ref's legs on a faceoff?

Well at least the Seto, Cullen and Zucker line has looked great. Unfortunately the Wild are trailing 4-1 with a minute to go in the first!

Might not have to wear ear plugs when I mow!      That’s a spendy one.  It wasn’t hard to find one of those for $6k.  Comparatively and Ariens of the same size is $4,200.  A home owner grade JD for $3,900.  You could get into a commercial grade Z700 for maybe $8k.   I think the work I did today with mine would’ve killed that one there.

On the south end...   This year's MN Fishing Opener weekend was not only great weather wise, the walleyes and saugers were caught in good numbers.  A main fish gut hauler working with a number of resorts commented it was one of the most productive opening weekends he has seen based on the amount of fish guts collected after the weekend. The goto presentation was a jig and frozen emerald shiner.  Emerald shiners are a staple in LOW and walleyes love them.  Other minnows worked also, but emerald shiners are a favorite of anglers for good reason.   Four Mile Bay held good walleyes in 12 - 18'.  Not a surprise as the walleye bite on the river during the spring season was good and as of late, sturgeon anglers have been reporting catching walleyes on sturgeon rigs.   The Lighthouse Gap area, Morris Point Gap and just in front of Pine Island held nice fish in 12 - 15'.  Across the south shore, 18 - 22' was holding good numbers as well.  As you can see, there are lots of fish around.     A quarter ounce jig in gold, glow white, pink, orange, chartreuse, or a combo of these colors tipped with a minnow worked well.   As a reminder, the limit of walleyes and saugers is a combined limit of six fish, up to four of the six can be walleyes.  All walleyes between 19.5 - 28.0 inches must be released.  One fish over 28.0 inches can be kept.  The possession limit in MN is one daily limit of fish. On the Rainy River...  Some nice walleyes were caught on the river this weekend, although most anglers hit the lake.  10 - 15' of water was the norm.     Sturgeon fishing on the Rainy River has been excellent.  The catch and release season continues through May 15th and then closes until the keep season starts up again July 1st. Up at the NW Angle...  Some nice walleyes were caught in 18 - 25 feet of water, a little deeper than anticipated.  Points were good as were areas with structure.  The morning and evening bite was best.       As water continues to warm, go to spots for walleyes will be neck down areas, shoreline breaks, points and bays.     The goto presentation was a jig and minnow.

I found this dock wheel floating in Black Bay. If it's yours or you know whom it belongs to, go and grab it.
