Not exactly sure what Spunk you are referring too, but there are Upper Spunk, Middle, and Lower Spunks. I would say Upper and Lower get the most pressure--with Upper probably getting the most. There are some nice pike in Upper and the water clarity is pretty good and there are always some guys spearing there. Its also has some walleyes and crappies. Middle probably gets the least pressure--there are walleyes there--a few people spear it. Lower gets a few spearers out there--its sunfish are pretty small, but it has decent crappies.

i am looking at all three different lakes. i think im going to go and check it out.

is there accesses on each lake?

in the summer time, can you get into all three lakes with a boat, meaning that if you land in one can you get into the others via boat?

im new to area, and still trying to figure out all these lakes around here.

I know upper and lower both have a good summer and winter access. Upper's acces is on the west side of 94 and lower's access is a little drive through the town of avon to get to it. Never been on middle.

I dont think you can boat from lake to lake by water

All three have accesses. No way to go from lake to lake by boat. Decent panfish in upper and lower. Never fished middle.

They can be great lakes....Upper and Middle have the best water quality if you're looking to spear, but Lower has some surprisingly nice pike in it if you're willing to run after flags. smile

The panfish in all three, like most lakes in the area, run small, but there are some very nice crappies in Middle if you can find them. The same is the case in Upper, and in my experience, sorting a few out on Lower will get you enough for a meal.

As others have said, there are walleyes in Upper and Middle, too, but I lack the skill and/or knowledge to catch them consistently.

I drove by today, looks like upper (big) is most popular as well as lower. Smaller lakes tho

I grew up on Middle Spunk. It is an extremely underrated lake!

There is a good number of large Walleyes in both Middle and Upper. If you are going after walleyes try the middle of the lake where it narrows down. There is a rock pile along one of drop offs. There are also good crappies in Upper and Middle, locals nail them in the couple small lagoons in the spring time. You can catch sunfish in all 3 of them, but I have never caught a lot of what I consider to be keepers.

In my opinion if you are into just catching lots of fish go to Lower, but if you want to catch better fish hit up Upper or Middle for sure.

Most people who spear on Middle go over where Spunk Creek flows under the interstate from Upper into Lower. I dont spear, so I cant really comment on that. I do know there are some fat pike in there though.

I dont live in the area anymore, but if I did I would fish Middle regularly. If you fish it a few times I think you will find that it is a vastly underrated chain of lakes.
