With Green Bay getting healthy and the improvement in the run game with Grant, Green, and Harris sharing carries, the return of Jordy Nelson and Greg Jennings, I don't see how the Vikings can stop the pack from putting up 30+ points. I predict Peterson will get around 125 yards and won't break the record and the Pack win this one easy.

Since it is in the dome, I am gonna say 14-10 Vikes in the forst half with Peterson running for one huge touchdown (80+ yards) giving him 125 yards in the first half, second half all green and gold baby, finaly score 42-14, with peterson ending the game with 187 yards. Boo birds will commence after the third interception thrown by Ponder on the vikes opening drive in the third quarter

Most agreed that the Viking had zero chance of beating Houston and they destroyed them.

I have my doubts that the Vikings will win but they are playing very well and since it is in the Dome, I think one could flip a coin on the winner. Maybe a 63 yard field goal by Walsh.

My bet, the team with the ball at the end will win on a last minute score.

Green bay is beatable for sure.

I believe I heard the Vegas line is 3 points.

The Vikes have been making games interesting. Who knows, they almost beat the Packers in Green Bay. In the end, the Vikings will choke, to keep up their tradition of their season finale. Packers 35, Vikings 23

I'm not sure who will win but I don't see a blow out either way. Even in Green Bay when the vikings were going through a terrible stretch the game was still close. Now with the game at the dome and the vikings playing better football I think it will be another close game.

It will be interesting to see if they Packers start resting guys later in the game or if they go 100% the entire game.

Vike's 27 Packer's 21 Go vikes.

The pack won't rest anyone if they wine first round bye lose they play the vikes again the next week

I predicted a long time ago the Vikes would split with both Chicago and Green Bay...I'm sticking with that.

Viking's are tough in the Dome and it's going to be rockin....I look for Everson Griffin to have a huge game.

Vikes 27 Pack 24

If Frazier and Co. can actually get this team to 10 wins and a play-off birth with Ponder...he should be unanimously chosen as coach of the year. Hands down.

I guess I didn't make my call in my first post. I'm going with a Vikings win. They just have more to play for and given that its at home I think the vikings pull this one out.

I didn't think we would beat Houston but I still think we will win this one. We will beat the Fudge by 10. Rogers gets knocked out of the game by the Hillbilly in the 3rd quarter.

Lets speculate that Adrian does not break the record but gets his 2,000 yards and we make the playoffs. Does he get league MVP or do they give it to Manning or Brady?

Posted

AP should get it although I don't think he will.

Without AP I think the vikings are a 3-4 win team at best. That means he accounted for at least 6 wins on his own.

Without Manning last year Tebow of all people was able to take the Broncos to the playoffs so that to me down plays how important Manning was to that team. In fact if Manning didn't take them to the playoffs and improve over what Tebow did then I think it would have been a dissappointing season for the Broncos.

In NE I think its more the scheme and coaching staff that turns that team into winners every season, no one player is responsible for it. Brady has had a good year just like Manning but I can't really pin any particular number of wins on Brady alone. They just seem to win every year no matter who is playing. Even Cassel looked like an MVP with NE, now he looks like a third string DIII player.

Packers should win but, even as a Packer fan, I'm not totally confident. The Packers and Vikings are both peaking at the right times but with that said, both still have weaknesses. GB is soft against the run and still not running the ball great themselves. MN still isn't passing well (better, but not well) and can still give up passing yards too easily.

AP's only chance of winning the MVP is to break Dickerson's record while the Vikings simultaneously beat the Packers for a playoff birth on the strength of AP's 208+ yards. Those factors are the only things that could vault AP over Manning.

That said, I still think that Luck is the most valuable player to his team. They went from one win to a good playoff team.

Nofishfisherman, Every successful Q.B. plays within a system tailored to his skill set and surrounded by skilled players. Joe Montana was once asked if he was a system Q.B. and he replied, "Yeah, I have 4 system super bowl rings." A Q.B. is only as good as the players around him not necessarily the system as proven by Cassell. Agreed that Peterson will get the MVP only if the Vikes make the playoffs. The Green Bay, Vikes game, in my opinion, is a wash.It should be decided by 1 big play by either team. I, for the life of me would have not thought the Vikes would be in a position to win 10 games, much less be in playoff contention this year so who knows maybe the Vikes surprise me once again.

I can see an argument for Luck or even RG3 over Manning and Brady this year. Both Luck and RG3 brought bad teams into playoff contention, Manning and Brady brought good teams back to the playoffs. Anything less from the Broncos or Patriots would have been a bad year.

I would not be surprised to see the Packers win by more than 4 TD's. Frazier and the Vikings just don't put together good game plans against the Packers and they are not really built to take away what GB does well.

Wow I was way off last week!!(38-20) I'm gonna keep my streak going and say GB 56-9.

Seriously, if the D shows up again Rodgers could be wearing his a** for a hat.

Hope Walsh gets a chance at a game winner. One of the best stories of the NFL season.

Can't hardly bet against AP. I think we're all hoping Ponder doesn't [PoorWordUsage] it away for him(and obviously the team)

MOM field will be rockin for sure!!

Obviously, you didn't see the 1st game they played this year.

I would say the game plan was dead on...too bad Ponder was just dead.

Packers 34-19

Hope the Pack is planning for a blow out. I sure wouldn't want to be in a close game with a kicker who even misses when trying to take a leak. That fact alone gives the Vikings a shot at winning this game.

Its setup perfect for a vikes win this week and a loss next week at GB. I think a vikes win this week is a no brainer. I think AP falls a bit short though.

Vikings win this weekend, 23-17. Then they win the 1st round of the play offs. 34-28. Why is my coffee purple this morning?

The last game the Packers were without Jennings and Driver and Jordy Nelson went out on the second series. That's a lot of the offense right there not to mention that Brian Bulaga was out and TJ Lang went out in the second quarter.

On defense they were missing CJ Wilson, Clay Matthews, Woodson, and Sam Shields. Everyone's back now except Woodson and Bulaga.

What the heck, I'll get in the mix......glad I don't have to bet my grandpa's favorite shotgun on this one. I pick the Pack to win, no predictions on score. Queens have more to play for, in a sense - we need to treat this one like a playoff win or go home game. Pride is on the line as well.

Should be one heck of a game to watch!

Go Pack.

My gut tells me the Vikes will choke. I would like our chances more if the Fudge didn't have anything to play for. Gay-Rodge will be out head hunting in our secondary.

I don't see AP breaking the record but I hope he can break 2000 yds. That alone is a miracle his 1st season back from that injury.

Hoping we can score early, run the ball, and play keep away. This will be an awesome game though, this is when it gets fun.

To bad the fail marry was called the way it was called. Packer fans are all up set cause it cost them a win. But the Vikings fans should be just as upset. If the Packers would have beat Seattle the vikings would be in and Seattle would be in the vikings shoes.

The Vikings would be in. No matter what. They would be in. So way back when every Viking fan was giving every Packer fan heck over that loss and all. Guess what? It came back to bite ya. If the Vikings lose, they could have been in. Now they maybe going home.

Funny how things run in circles!!!!!!!

Ok the ice was 15-16 inches and less than 2 inches of snow. It’s was -15 this morning and the weekend looks to be cold again. The fish were there but not biting with change in weather.

I guess the vikings are a lot like fishing.  Very entertaining but frustrating at times. I've probably been cheering the vikings for 50 plus years  that i can remember and once again it's all about (there's always next year).

I remember Jeno's boxed pizza years ago.  Mom made it every Saturday night while dad and I watched All Star Wrestling.

On the South Shore... Ice fishing is going great on the south shore of Lake of the Woods, with resorts and outfitters reporting thickening ice conditions with two feet of ice in some areas.  Many ice roads are now open to 1 ton vehicles pulling a wheelhouse.  Every road has different weight limits, check with each resort for details before traveling up and out on the ice.      Some good fishing this past week.  As a rule, fishing activity is happening in 28 - 32 feet of water.  Resorts do just about everything they can to get customers on fish and this past week, some resorts made some long runs, resetting fish houses in new areas miles off shore.  Most are reporting good fishing as a rule.     It is common to sort through some small walleyes and saugers to get your keepers on LOW.  Naturally, some big fish are showing up, especially in deeper water.  In addition, this has been a very good year for jumbo perch with good numbers being caught.  Other fish in the mix are eelpout (burbot), pike, tullibees and an occasional sturgeon.      Anglers are using the one-two punch of jigging in one hole and deadsticking the second hole. In the jigging hole, a jigging spoon tipped with a minnow head or tail in gold / pink, gold / glow red, glow white / pink, or Wonder Bread have worked well.     Especially in the deeper water, some anglers are finding success on rippin raps or using jigging spoons with a rattle as well.     On the deadstick, a small jig with a live minnow hooked behind the dorsal fin set 6 inches - a foot off of the bottom is working well.  One day the jigging line catches most of the fish, the other day a deadstick is hot.     Electronics are very helpful to see suspended fish, know when fish are coming through and adjust your presentation to the mood of each fish.  Most resorts, outfitters and bait shops in the area rent electronics by the day.   On the Rainy River... The Rainy River is still producing some nice walleyes and saugers, primarily in the mornings and evenings.  A jig and minnow working well.   Catch-and-release sturgeon fishing continues to be good for those targeting them.  An oversized hole, or three holes drilled together, with nightcrawlers or frozen emerald shiners on a sturgeon rig fished on the bottom are what anglers are using.     Ice conditions on the river can vary significantly due to the current. To stay safe and maximize success, always work with a local resort or outfitter familiar with river conditions.    Up at the NW Angle... Ice fishing continues to be very good up at the Northwest Angle. Resorts have fish houses set up on various pieces of structure as well as adjacent to structure in deep mud.  A consistent mix of walleyes, saugers, jumbo perch, pike and tullibees in the mix.     Shallow structure is best right away in the morning and as the sun starts going down in the late afternoon.  Mud is more of a slower bite but all day.   The ice road from Jerry's on the mainland (Angle Inlet, MN) to island resorts (as of this past week) was open to 1 ton vehicles.  Guests drive right to their island resort after picking up a road pass at Jerry's or Point North Services.  Venmo is also available at all resorts.  Work through your resort for specifics.   Ice fishing is in full swing across Lake of the Woods and there are openings for lodging, fish house rentals, sleeper fish house rentals and meal plans across the area.  Ice fishing is extended on LOW with fish houses allowed on the ice through March 31st, walleye / sauger season open through April 14th and a pike season that never closes.

From your fingertips to God's ears...  Finally got some snow!   Several inches of new snow fell before and during the weekend.  Sunday eve when we left, the high winds had already begun to create some drifting on the lake.  It was fun riding for sure.  Lots of folks on the lake this past weekend too.  We fueled up the sleds at Shamrock and saw as many people fishing in that area as I've ever seen in the Winter on Lake Vermilion.     Our weekend results were decent.  Jeff and I and a buddy caught probably 50 walleyes between the three of us, mostly fishing a jig/plastics with our three biggest being 24", 25", and 25.5".  We also got one large pike of unknown length.  During the midday on Sunday, we targeted whitefish and Jeff managed one big one.  We released all of our fish, except for three small walleyes that our buddy wanted to bring home for a meal.  Definitely a fun weekend on Lake V!

The Vikings are the Vikings so it's nothing new.  It is kind of sad that Darnold's off season stock is now going to drop like a rock after these last two games. It kind of shows he's not a big game guy.  🤔

I'm blaming leech... his food selection has been lacking game days recently  🤣
