Limitout, the packers would have lost to the vikings, a couple of years ago if the refs wouldn"t have blown a touchdown call. The league admitted they blew it. If this had been called properly, the packers wouldn"t have been the wildcard team. Also they wouldn"t have been playing in the superbowl, they would have been home.

I think most of us love how agitated this makes LMITOUT...he's very concerned about the national ramifications of a blown call, right guys? It has nothing to do with being a Packers supporter at best or Vikings gadfly at worst...LOL!

In the words of Mike Tice "Okay, calm down."

I guess the Vikings should have just played better and they wouldn't have had to worry about that one questionable call.

Right?

I've seen worse calls in more meaningful situations. The pass interference call late in the NFC Championship game against the Saints. There was no way that was a catchable ball, but the Saints got a fresh 4, and well, the rest is history.

according to the news, the real refs may be back this weekend with an aggreement near.

If the replacements made the right call on Monday night (per the NFL), then why the urgency to get the regular refs back?

My team?

And lets be honest, nothing of this magnitude has happened to the whiney Vikings. This was a blown call that the entire country believes was a bad call.

End of story.

Lmit, your the biggest Cheesehead on these boards, and you dont hide it very well at all.

You may have grown up a Vikings fan, and have got sick of their losing ways, but you are now a full blown Packer fan.

As for the call, the magnitude of the call wasnt all that much. I watch the replay, I see Tate, having control of the ball at one point, when he is on the ground, to me that is a touchdown. Kinda hard to reverse the call. I will admit though, it should have been passing interference, and an interception, but the review booth was looking did Tate have control of the ball on the ground, and the answer is yes, he did, touchdown.

Not sure about anyone else, but I was really looking forward to seeing what was about to happen when the replacements stepped onto the field in green bay this week...

Seriously though, this was fascinating.

Finally a group of 1%ers realized that "Hey. We actually need the small people. We should care about the small people"

wink

In other words, owners realized that they needed the refs they had, and that the fans are the reason they're actually in the football business in the first place.

Rule 8 - Section 3 - Article 1 - Item 5: Simultaneous Catch. If a pass is caught simultaneously by two eligible opponents, and both players retain it, the ball belongs to the passers. It is not a simultaneous catch if a player gains control first and an opponent subsequently gains joint control.

Thats where the screw up was ... the one official was late and all he saw was the end of the play. Replay crew should have reversed it!

That being said are they still protesting, I mean, PEOPLE, actually protesting in the streets of Green Bay?

Good Lord cheeseheads! .. grin

Someone correct me if I am wrong, but I thought the call on the field was obviously called by the replacements. However when it went to booth review, the official and final call was not made by the "replacement refs" but league official that ALWAYS make those calls?

You do realize who the head official was in the booth, don't you?

Phil Luckett. Yes, the one and only was it heads or tails Phil Luckett.

I have to ride the Vikings boat while it is still afloat. I have to take advantage of them being on top, because we all know, it wont last long. But since they are on top, I need to rub it in while I can

Of course it has. Anybody remember this game?

2002 Vikings at Packers

Jack Brewer intercepted Farve late in the 4th (under 2minutes). Game over right? Nope. PI thrown on Corey Chavous. Ball back to the packers, first down, and they score the winning touchdown. Major brawl at end of game, players fined. The next week, the NFL confirms that it was actually offense PI and the INT should NOT have been overturned. Ref's took the game from the Vikings and gave it to the pack. Of course no one in GB will admit this. Check out the article. Unlike GB, the Vikings moved on. Chavous took it like a man "they won the game" Unlike Rodgers and TJ Lang still whining and expecting Seattle to apologize.

Morale of the story - what comes around goes around. Even if it takes 10 years.

It was a sarcastic response to the previous small minded comments saying the same thing that I've read here and heard elsewhere, that for some reason how one team played was the reason for a bad call. crazy

A laughable call is a laughable call, and that was the most laughable of them all.

Something I've been wondering. If that call was made against a team like the Browns or the Buccaneers, do you think the agreement between the NFL and the officials would have been made so quickly?

Probably sooner

Phantom holding call so league office is not again flooded by Packer whiners demanding replacement refs immediately be reinstated. At least we won't have wonder what the Jets and Patriots are up to this week since ESPN will put all of 3 seconds into this blown call.

With the early ice out, how is the curlyleaf pondweed doing?

On the south end...   The big basin, otherwise known as Big Traverse Bay, is ice free.  Zippel Bay and Four Mile Bay are ice free as well.  Everything is shaping up nicely for the MN Fishing Opener on May 11th. With the walleye / sauger season currently closed, most anglers are targeting sturgeon and pike.  Some sturgeon anglers are fishing at the mouth of the Rainy River, but most sturgeon are targeted in Four Mile Bay or the Rainy River.  Hence, pike are the targeted species on the south shore and various bays currently.   Pike fishing this time of year is a unique opportunity, as LOW is border water with Canada, the pike season is open year round. The limit is 3 pike per day with one being able to be more than 40 inches. All fish 30 - 40 inches must be released. Back bays hold pike as they go through the various stages of the spawn.  Deadbait under a bobber, spinners, spoons and shallow diving crankbaits are all viable options.   Four Mile Bay, Bostic Bay and Zippel Bay are all small water and boats of various sizes work well. On the Rainy River...  Great news this week as we learned sturgeon will not be placed on the endangered species list by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.     The organization had to make a decision by June 30 and listing sturgeon could have ended sturgeon fishing.  Thankfully, after looking at the many success stories across the nation, including LOW and the Rainy River, sturgeon fishing and successful sturgeon management continues.   A good week sturgeon fishing on the Rainy River.  Speaking to some sturgeon aficionados, fishing will actually get even better as water temps rise.     Four Mile Bay at the mouth of the Rainy River near the Wheeler's Point Boat Ramp is still producing good numbers of fish, as are various holes along the 42 miles of navigable Rainy River from the mouth to Birchdale.   The sturgeon season continues through May 15th and resumes again July 1st.   Oct 1 - April 23, Catch and Release April 24 - May 7, Harvest Season May 8 - May 15, Catch and Release May 16 - June 30, Sturgeon Fishing Closed July 1 - Sep 30, Harvest Season If you fish during the sturgeon harvest season and you want to keep a sturgeon, you must purchase a sturgeon tag for $5 prior to fishing.    One sturgeon per calendar year (45 - 50" inclusive, or over 75"). Most sturgeon anglers are either a glob of crawlers or a combo of crawlers and frozen emerald shiners on a sturgeon rig, which is an 18" leader with a 4/0 circle hook combined with a no roll sinker.  Local bait shops have all of the gear and bait. Up at the NW Angle...  A few spots with rotten ice, but as a rule, most of the Angle is showing off open water.  In these parts, most are looking ahead to the MN Fishing Opener.  Based on late ice fishing success, it should be a good one.

Nice fish. I moved to the Sartell area last summer and just thought it was windy like this everyday up here? 🤭

Crazy windy again today.... This is has been the norm this spring. Between the wind and the cold fronts, fishing has been more challenging for me than most years.  Panfish have been moving in and out of the shallows quite a bit. One day they are up in the slop, the next they are out relating to cabbage or the newly sprouting lilly pads.  Today eye guy and I found them in 4-5 ft of water, hanging close to any tree branches that happened to be laying in the water.  Bigger fish were liking a 1/32 head and a Bobby Garland baby shad.   Highlight of the day way this healthy 15incher
