Grand Lake St. Louis County

Was just looking for any general opinions of this lake as far as fishing goes. I am looking at some property on the lake and dont no anything about this lake. Thanks for any information.

Fairly good for gills and OK for crappies and some bass. Lot of small pike with some getting to good size.

So So for walleyes and the recent stockings didn't take. It used to be better.

The majority of the lake is shallow but has what is called the trench at around 20'.

The shallow water is weed choked and running an out board in it bad. Still you can pick you way to the deeper water. Because of that there isn't a lot of recreation boating or PWCs.

I live on a lake close to Grand. That is where I put my ice house.

I'll have to say the Grand Lake Township is a nice place to live as well.

Maybe someday the cabin will become your residence.

Looking at buying a place here.  It's a big lake, but looks really shallow.  Is there a lot of weeds?  Are there sandy spots to park your boat for the kids to swim?

I haven’t fished Grand Lake for years but I do remember lots of bullheads
