Hows the ice look over that way? I was thinking of dropping some tip-ups and jigging for some eyes over there this week if I can get out.

I havent been over the hill to look at the lake since before Thanksgiving.. not to impressed with it when its hard water. I may not even ice fish out there this year.. trip to canada for lakers and a LOTW trip might be about it. Heading out west duck hunting again right after Christmas... mother load of mallards are waiting!! Rig a new boat come the new year and go find open water!

Everyone ready for spring? I see I've been buried on the 3rd page after long winter hibernation... Still too much snow to think fishing but hopefully it wont be too long. Snowmobile trails and lake are nice for riding but you better get r done before the sun comes out. Here is a pic of the new ride. Start rigging as soon as I get stuff.

Nice boat. That guiding and selling crawlers must be a heck of a good racket.

While Ely is busy trying to get the Olympics, ban mining, and ban social media among a million other things I have started an ice out contest on the Casey's Guide Service FACEBOOK page. Details are there and you can get to there through my website.. Link below. Here's your chance to win a half day guide trip in 2013! Be sure to share with all your friends.

Good Luck!!

This white stuff is starting to get a little depressing!

Only good thing about it is that we do need the moisture in the lakes and rivers.

Another 12" of new snow plus 25 mph winds gusting to 40 mph=6' drifts at my backdoor! This is really not funny any more. I sure hope you have someone to clear your snow Cliff. Wouldn't be a good idea with the new surgery and all. eek

Good Fishing,

Have to believe all this moisture will help the water level rise on LV. Fire danger must be below zero so far this spring. laugh

Mark,

I have a Kubota with a plow that works great on my driveway!

I have a wife with a shovel that works great on the sidewalks! grin

(I apologize for being off topic but this joke was on the radio this morning that echoes Cliff's comment.)

Q: How do you turn a dishwasher into a snowblower?

A: You give her a shovel.

Alternate plans for Opener on the Big V are becoming more realistic each day!

Took advantage of the extended winter and took my oldest boy up to Canada for his first fishing trip on Monday. We fished Whitefish Bay.. beautiful day, beautiful snowmobiling conditions, and the fishing wasn't too bad. We caught 4 fish around a 9 lb Average and lost 4.. he reeled in his first lake trout and it just about pulled him down the hole. Tons of fun. Fresh trout for supper tonight..
