That does sound a like great season - congrats! Hopefully those misses will turn into blood trails next year! I screwed up on a freezer doe back in October - it happens!

For who? You or him? Slim, congrats on a season to remember. You have pretty much had the best year every. I would go spend some time at the casino before the year is up.

A balmy 12 degrees this morning! I'm sure single digits for many of you to the north. Saw a red fox driving to the woods this morning, that was it. My confidence has reached negative levels. Hopefully the snow Sat will trigger some movement.

I'm thinking about heading out today around 2ish, supposed to be winds from the south today and I have a perfect spot for that. The south winds don't come along to often this time of year.

YUCK, the orange army has definitely put a hault on all the action I was seeing.

Sat from 2-dark on Thurs evening, didn't see anything until I was about to get out of my stand and heard a deer running across the cut corn field, it was a big doe with a bigger bodied deer right behind her, she was heading right toward my stand until about 60 yards then she hooked a right and went into the woods. To dark to see if that deer behind her had a rack, I'm sure it was a buck though doggin her, just don't know how big.

Went out Friday morning sat from 6am until 11 didn't see anything.

Got sick of deer hunting and went to jig some eyes last night and caught an 8 lber, 2-3 lbers, and a few eaters.

Might try to get out another time or two with the bow before I get out with the muzzleloader, time to reach out and touch something.

Looks like some possible grouping going on around here already.

Was out last night and no shot chance, but had a doe and 2 fawns come running through just before 5 and when I got out after shooting hours, to my surprise there were atleast 7 deer in the field when I got to the edge. 3rd time in a row that I picked the wrong stand.... they all walked out under another one, funny.

Not giving up yet, still alot of the time to put one on the ground.

Sat for an hour last night. The buddy ladder I sat in had two sets of tracks that parted to go around the ladder. A doe & fawn came out, turns out about 40 yards from my permanent stand on the same field edge & crossed in front of me about 65 yards. 40 I can do, 65 not so much...

I'm on nights all week, so I sat from noon to 4pm today. I didnt' see a deer, but a ton of tracks all over the place. We hav an inch or two of snow on the ground and the deer are still hitting out food plots of oats.

Gonna give it a go again tomorrow, same time frame and see what happens. Probably try a different stand though.

Of course I get back to my dad's and a doe we call Limpy is in the yard w/ her 2 fawns eating apples my mom threw out for her. Glad to see she made it through another hunting season. Her front foot must have got caught in a leg hold trap years ago. I think she's going on 5 or 6 years old. She lives close to my parents house and we see her all the time. Fun to watch her and the fawns.

We've givien her several "free passes" over the years. A time or two one of us has killed a buck that was "harassing" her and she usually kicks out a buck fawn or two each year.

A week ago she disappeared for a couple of days, while her fawns hung aroung the yard. I'm sure she was keeping company with a buck and getting bred.

Out last night again and picked the wrong stand AGAIN.

Watched a 6 pointer, 2 Does and 2 fawns come out of the corner where I have a stand that I sat in the other day where I came out and seen the 7 in the field. Maybe playing the wind isn't working for these deer....somewhat frustrated, but still in the chase.

Maybe I will put the field at my back tonight and see what happens.

My first stand last night here in the metro since the snow and I gotta say I was impressed by the number of tracks in my little area. Saw 3 or 4 not too far away, but the heavy cover kept me from being able to tell what they were. If the wind holds a steady SE today I hope to move in a bit closer tonight.

I haven't had the chance to sit since the snow yet, but have done a little scouting, and as DonBo mentioned tracks have been heavy especially in plot areas. Sunday there were some, but between Sunday evening and yesterday things really heated up and deer started to move again. As for scrapes and rubs, nothing new or reopened that we could notice may be that "lull" between ruts, but I expect it to only start getting better again. Will be hunting hard this weekend. Goodluck every body and remember to give thanks during the holiday season!

Hit the woods with a fellow FM'er tonight at one of my favorite hunting spots. He saw 4 and I saw one a nice big bodied 9 pointer that moseyed down the line and FLSniper put the smackdown on him. Really nice big bodied deer. Saw a doe on the edge of the road as I was driving out. The deer were moving fairly early this evening. Nice night to sit on stand! Congrats to FLSniper on a nice late season bowkill!

Got out tonight for a bit. Nothing during shooting hours but had three come through after dark. Hard to tell what they were even at 15 yards and a full moon.

Sat for 1 1/2 hrs tonight and saw zip. It seemed like full daylight when I had to get down, this snow cover combined with full moon are not helping things.

Nothing against the muzzleloaders, but it has been a long run of gun fire in Zone 3 these past few weeks. Most of the deer movement has been right at the last few minutes of legal shooting time. We need another little snowstorm to quiet the woods down a bit; the night after the last heavy snowfall I saw more deer that night than in the previous two weeks. Does and fawns are back together where I'm hunting, and I haven't seen a buck in about two weeks--not even at dark. Still, I've really enjoyed hunting this year, and it has been decent weather for most of the fall and early winter. Anyone seeing any chasing by the bucks on late does?

Had a nice doe around me for a bit yesterday morning but no ethical shot presented itself. Chilly morning but the bootsocks and hand warmers did there thing to keep me out there. Sat the evening from 2:30 till dark and seen a respectable buck around 3:30. He was walking away from me and the can call had no effect on him. Stopped him for a bit but never changed his mind to come my way. He was about 80 yards away and off he went. Nice to see him though. Maybe I will find his sheds this spring. Once we were at the last 10 minuts of shooting light the deer were moving. I think I counted 4 that I could see and heard things I knew were more deer. No shots but still fun to be out. Going to give it one more weekend next weekend and call it a season. Time for some ice fishing and company. 3.5 months doing outdoor activity by ones self and I am ready for fishing with freinds and family. Lol Hope everyone had a good season and some good memories were made.

Going to re-start tomorrow, now that all the gun seasons are done.

Been out ocassionally lately. Seen a few, but I think they just have been chased too much to settle down.

I have about 7 more days to hunt this year with all the other obligations coming up.

Still have a buck or two, and quite a few doe's on camera.

Either way my year has been good, tag soup for me if it doesn't happen.

Or my 1st ever archery harvest in December.

Good luck all, we still have a chance.
