Can't believe the one time I am in Vegas for a Super Bowl and the Packers are the team that wins it.

Also can't believe the Giants blew the Eagles game and allowed the Packers into the playoffs.

And I also can't believe the Seahawks with a worse record than the Saints got to host a playoffs game. Had the Saints been home, I feel the Packers road would have been alot different and they would have never even made the Super Bowl.

Yep, luck went their way last year, meanwhile the season before the Vikes got screwed every which way but loose against the Saints. Pierre Thomas never did make that first down, how can a guy that got pushed back 2 yards make a first down? Its a puzzler.

I've got my basement renovation in a good place to host the first game this Thursday. New TV is mounted, brats will be soaked in beer, and the cheesecurds will be fried to perfection on Thursday night!

That said, I'd have no problem starting the season 0-1. The Saints are a very good team and now they've got a legitimate runner in Mark Ingram. These teams should be a good match-up.

Sure is a puzzler.....if the Pack wins a few of those games (6) that they lost, 4 of which they lost by just 3 points (2 in OT if I remember right), and the other 2 by just 4 pts (both with out there starting QB, well, most of the Detroit game)...they have homefield through out and maybe stick a fork in the people that think it was all luck.

GO PACK!

Here's the plans for the pre-game ceremonies at Lambeau Thursday.

http://nflcommunications.com/2011/09/06/...packers-opener/

"For the first time, 32 legendary NFL alumni, one representing each team, will be part of the pregame celebration at Lambeau Field."

Some pretty impressive names on that list. John Randle from the Vikings, Jay Novecek from the Cowboys, Ted Hendricks of the Raiders (some of you old timers like me might remember the season he played for the Packers) and Richard Dent of the Bears to name a few.

ROFL.

15 guys on the IR.

Yep, luck went their way all right.

LMIT, you know Vikes fans can't count. Well, not past the 3 beers it takes them to get bleary and reminisce about all their Super Bowl losses. After those 3 beers, it's all just whining. Vikes fans = cheap dates! gringrin

Don't have to be a fan of the team to be aware of what they went through on their way to the SB. Just a fan of the game.

BTW, IR or not, ask any expert (not LMIT) and they all agree, things went their way after that Giants/Eagles game, they got into the playoffs after a HUGE meltdown that would have kept them out of the playoffs altogether, how is that NOT luck? It is the definition of luck.

And they won all their playoff games ON THE ROAD. How badly did they pummel the Falcons again???

Luck, schmuck.

And BTW, Paul Allen is hardly and expert as he proves every day on his 9-noon show. Wasn't he the one that said A-Rodg was overrated? Oh, yeah, it was him. crazy

LMITOUT,

I am still going through a brain debugging process from spending 6 hours in the car listening to KFAN this past Labor Day weekend. I am hoping by tomorrow evening the process will be complete so I can be back to reality and enjoy the game.

Go Pack. I sure hope they have some of that same luck they had last year wink

I am a Homer, but you pretty much have to admit, the Vikes/Saints game didnt go the Vikings way. As for the Packers and luck? Any team that wins the SB had luck on their side. Every team that has ever won the SB, sometime during their season, a game changing ball bounce, or a bad call that helped them, or a lucky tipped ball went their way. So to say the Packers didnt win because they were lucky, Well, you have to be a cheesehead to say that! The Packers were picked to win the SB last year by the experts, they had a good team, and still do. They will be in the top of the division again this year, and they will be in the playoffs, although I doubt they will win the SB again this year. Teams that repeat, are VERY good teams, the Packers are good, but I dont think they are at that level of good. JMO!

Just a heads up, tonight on the NFL Network at 8:00 PM central it's America's Game, the 2010 Green Bay Packers. "The story of the 2010 Green Bay Packers and their run to Super Bowl XLV."

I've got my DVR set because I'll be watching the Brewers/Cards game.

They just replayed the Super Bowl in it's entirety the other night and are showing it again at noon today. On Saturday starting at 1pm the NFL Network is showing a 30min story of the 2010 Packer season, followed by SoundFX from the Super Bowl, and then the 1hr long 2010 Packer season.

Soooo, the "experts" picked the Packers because they felt the Packers would have the most luck of all the teams last year...or because they thought the Packers were good?

wink

When "experts" make their picks I'm pretty sure they don't use the luck factor in doing so, at least I sure hope not. So what it then all boils down to is that the Packers followed through on the preseason picks and won the championship because they were good, not lucky. End of story.

Great documentary lastnight! My wife even liked it. But what the heck is wrong with Mccarthy's left eye? It points outward when he looks at the camera, little scary. haha. Gotta love C-Woodson, hope he has another stellar season.

I spent the night hauling lumber out of the basement, sweeping, mopping, and dusting everything so that the crew could watch the game tonight and not be covered in drywall and sawdust. I had the 2010 season review on in the background followed by the 1.5hr Lombardi documentary. Awesome.

I'm buying my fresh cheesecurds this afternoon and my brats are soaking already.

I wish I had tickets but just couldn't swing it. A decent seat was going for $350 to $400. 4.gif
