Don't have to dig very deep as I've been right since the beginning on this one, along with pretty much everything else Viking related.

Pay attention, you might just learn something.

You've been right on everything Vikings related? Are you sure that you know what the word "right" means?

For your future reference.

I have to agree with Lmit on the Harvin topic. You can't have a devisive player like that on the team and I'm glad to finally see Frazier take action, although it probably wasn't without the GM and Wilfs backing. Harvin is one of those dime a dozen slots that come around every year and honestly I think Wright has just as much potential as Harvin, it's up to him to realize that potential and develop as a player. Childs, the other Arkansas wideout the Vikes picked in the draft will hopefully heal from his injuries and become the player the Vikes drafted if not Woods from USC would look good in a Vikes uniform next season. Maybe a second or third from Harvin in next years draft and I agree with Lmit, get him out of here.

We have another entry for the most preposterous statement of the year!

Harvin has best called the best all around player in the entire league by some and I would say that is close to accurate. Dime a dozen......have you watched football the last few years? This guy completely changes the game.

I love hearing that whooosh sound of Vikings bobo's getting sucked in again...in just a few weeks Frasier turned into the coach of the year and Ponder is our QB of the future.

Doh-kay.

ROFL!

WHOOOOSH!

I can't wait until Washington picks up Harvin and Vikings fans will see what they were missing by winning that meaningless game against them last year. Thank goodness they won that 3rd game.

RGIII+Harvin+Peterson...

Why would we care if Washington picks up Harvin if he's a huge bust like you say? Your logic seems flawed. Is this you being "right" again?

I think he's saying we could have RGIII if we had not won the meaningless game against Washington last year.

Harvin would likely be happy at this point and we would be not just a playoff team but a team to reckon with - Harvin - Peterson-RGIII

However, LMIT is way off on the comments I qouted above. As you can see most of what he says about the Vikes is little more than over-blown lunacy laugh

It just eats you guys up that I know your club better than you know your club, and it's your club.

LOL.

That's what happens when you have the advantage of an objective viewpoint and don't get water boarded with purple kool-aid on a daily basis.

Harvin, one of the best all around players in the league? You're going to have to quote your sources on that one Fishersofmen. He's a talent but he has the same problem as most of the present entitled athletes in todays NFL- Diva Headcase, plus he has a tendency for getting injured on a regular basis. Plenty of this type of player around - don't believe everything you hear on ESPN as most of it is scripted garbage. Instead maybe take the word of someone who played the game, granted years ago, and knows a hell of a lot more about football than most on this forum.

Harvin is without a doubt one of the best all around players in the league. Prior to his injury he was being talked about as the front runner for MVP. Also if you look back prior to this year he hasn't missed too many games. Pound for pound he is one of the toughest guys in the league.

I guess we will have to agree to disagree on your versus my talent assessment of Harvin schmitty3. Maybe your vision is somewhat clouded by

the fact that you may be a Vikes fan but I guess I just don't see it and you definetely lose some credibility as thinking he may have been in the running for MVP. Again don't believe everything you hear from the media.

No doubt about Harvin being very talented but he must be something else in the locker room. Do you think it was just coincidence how the team came together after his departure from a season ending "ankle sprain"? crazyDid anybody ever see him on the sideline supporting his team? He won't play another down in Minnesota.

Ok... not trying to feed the bears... but c'mon, gotta admit this is classic!

Good Luck!

With the early ice out, how is the curlyleaf pondweed doing?

On the south end...   The big basin, otherwise known as Big Traverse Bay, is ice free.  Zippel Bay and Four Mile Bay are ice free as well.  Everything is shaping up nicely for the MN Fishing Opener on May 11th. With the walleye / sauger season currently closed, most anglers are targeting sturgeon and pike.  Some sturgeon anglers are fishing at the mouth of the Rainy River, but most sturgeon are targeted in Four Mile Bay or the Rainy River.  Hence, pike are the targeted species on the south shore and various bays currently.   Pike fishing this time of year is a unique opportunity, as LOW is border water with Canada, the pike season is open year round. The limit is 3 pike per day with one being able to be more than 40 inches. All fish 30 - 40 inches must be released. Back bays hold pike as they go through the various stages of the spawn.  Deadbait under a bobber, spinners, spoons and shallow diving crankbaits are all viable options.   Four Mile Bay, Bostic Bay and Zippel Bay are all small water and boats of various sizes work well. On the Rainy River...  Great news this week as we learned sturgeon will not be placed on the endangered species list by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.     The organization had to make a decision by June 30 and listing sturgeon could have ended sturgeon fishing.  Thankfully, after looking at the many success stories across the nation, including LOW and the Rainy River, sturgeon fishing and successful sturgeon management continues.   A good week sturgeon fishing on the Rainy River.  Speaking to some sturgeon aficionados, fishing will actually get even better as water temps rise.     Four Mile Bay at the mouth of the Rainy River near the Wheeler's Point Boat Ramp is still producing good numbers of fish, as are various holes along the 42 miles of navigable Rainy River from the mouth to Birchdale.   The sturgeon season continues through May 15th and resumes again July 1st.   Oct 1 - April 23, Catch and Release April 24 - May 7, Harvest Season May 8 - May 15, Catch and Release May 16 - June 30, Sturgeon Fishing Closed July 1 - Sep 30, Harvest Season If you fish during the sturgeon harvest season and you want to keep a sturgeon, you must purchase a sturgeon tag for $5 prior to fishing.    One sturgeon per calendar year (45 - 50" inclusive, or over 75"). Most sturgeon anglers are either a glob of crawlers or a combo of crawlers and frozen emerald shiners on a sturgeon rig, which is an 18" leader with a 4/0 circle hook combined with a no roll sinker.  Local bait shops have all of the gear and bait. Up at the NW Angle...  A few spots with rotten ice, but as a rule, most of the Angle is showing off open water.  In these parts, most are looking ahead to the MN Fishing Opener.  Based on late ice fishing success, it should be a good one.

Nice fish. I moved to the Sartell area last summer and just thought it was windy like this everyday up here? 🤭

Crazy windy again today.... This is has been the norm this spring. Between the wind and the cold fronts, fishing has been more challenging for me than most years.  Panfish have been moving in and out of the shallows quite a bit. One day they are up in the slop, the next they are out relating to cabbage or the newly sprouting lilly pads.  Today eye guy and I found them in 4-5 ft of water, hanging close to any tree branches that happened to be laying in the water.  Bigger fish were liking a 1/32 head and a Bobby Garland baby shad.   Highlight of the day way this healthy 15incher
