Solbes, I'm over here trying to find away to get these games on the interenet. Making phone calls to other cable companies.I might be buying a XBOX. I guess they have some deal with ESPN3. Its just killing me missing all these games. Especially CC beating BC.

That guy is a stud. How many points does he have? Is the Boston goaltender looking shaky?

Schwartz has 2 goals on the night. Muse isn't playing terrible for BC but when you compare him to Howe in net for CC he is struggling. Shorty for CC right now. 6-2.

I'm reading this live blog on another site. The BC fans are flipping out. There blaming John Muse. I'm enjoying this smile. Cheers

3 even strength goals, 2 short handed goals, and 2 powerplay goals for CC at the end of 2. If CC can keep riding this wave they are a serious contender.

I'm happy to see a WCHA team do well in this tourament. Good for them smile

I was starting to think the WCHA was the Atlantic conference for awhile there.

7-3 with 11:42 left in the third. I don't want to see CC get soft here. They are going to need to play just as hard against Michigan tomorrow.

Honestly I am pulling for Duluth to take it all since I have tickets to the frozen four already and I want to cheer for a MN team. Besides that I will support all the WCHA teams except UND. I lost my respect for UND after the 2006 when they hosted the west regional and the majority of the UND fans cheered for Holy Cross over the U of M. Up until that point UND was my number 2 team in the WCHA.

7-4 6:21 left in the 3rd.

Rodents deserved to be rooted against. They didn't even bother to gain game tapes of Holy Cross they were so confident. Did all the fans in the stands know this at the time? Why let the facts get in the way of a good story. wink

Bryce if thats your reason for rooting against the gophers have at it. To each their own. I would have much rather watched UND play against the gophers in the quarterfinals and win then watch UND play Holy Cross. I was just stating that I supported all the WCHA teams until I encountered that situation. Thats just my opinion. It's all about the rivalry that is unfortunately not going to be the same in a few years.

It was almost like the ice tilted towards the BC net last night. The Tigers were very, very fast and aggressive coming out of their zone into neutral ice. Best game of the day, unless of course you were an Eagle fan. The CCHA refs really let em play too. It was 180 degrees from the Duluth/Union game in that sense.

They were talking about how hard it would be to pull Muse after all he has accomplished at BC. Screw that, I would have pulled him after 4 goals to start the 2nd. For sure after the 5th. Sure you give him a pat on the back and thank him, but this was the NCAAs. The Eagles fans were wrong, it was the rest of the team that was so flat and the real reason for the loss. CC just dominated them. Playing like that, they might be the team to beat.

Missioncontrol26 word of warning don't even think about attacking Bryce beloved Sioux. (top ivy league school of North Dakota if you didn't already know just ask him)Plus not a bad hockey team either.

Solbes, how do you like UMD chances against Yale? You think the refs will call another tight game?

Dogs are looking good. A hot tender is key for playoff hockey. CC could make things interesting too.

How much confidence is CC going to have..... wow.

So is Nodak going to win 6-1 or take this one to OT.

Man I hate the sioux. Mission, I cant believe it took that long to loose respect for that goon crew. Everyone knows NDSU is the top academic school in that state anyway.

So what refs are we going to get today. Talk about a change, I wonder if everyone complained about the Dogs games refs.

I didn't think Yale or UMD looked their normal selves in game 1. UMD was on the PK for 1/3 of the game and on the PP for another 1/5-1/4 of the game. So it was tough to get a sense for how their 5-5 play was. Typically there would be 1 or 2 shifts and then a penalty was called. Very few times of working through repeated lines 1-3. PK was shutdown; I really liked David Grun and Mike Connolly out there. Reiter was playing at the top of his game. That's the type of game that we would have lost 3-2 over the past 2 months of regular season, if Reiter hadn't elevated his play.

Yale certainly didn't appear to be the fast and high scoring team they were touted to be. Air Force had numerous chances late in the game to beat them but couldn't quite capitalize. AF was also one of the teams to beat Yale in the regular season. Yale could obviously turn things around tonight and come out firing, so I think it'll be a tough game.

If the refs let them play a little bit, I think whoever scores 4, possibly even 3 goals wins it. It would also help our forecheck if it wasn't SO tight tonight. I know they are trying to ref like they usually do in the East, but that 1st game was downright silly.

With the early ice out, how is the curlyleaf pondweed doing?

On the south end...   The big basin, otherwise known as Big Traverse Bay, is ice free.  Zippel Bay and Four Mile Bay are ice free as well.  Everything is shaping up nicely for the MN Fishing Opener on May 11th. With the walleye / sauger season currently closed, most anglers are targeting sturgeon and pike.  Some sturgeon anglers are fishing at the mouth of the Rainy River, but most sturgeon are targeted in Four Mile Bay or the Rainy River.  Hence, pike are the targeted species on the south shore and various bays currently.   Pike fishing this time of year is a unique opportunity, as LOW is border water with Canada, the pike season is open year round. The limit is 3 pike per day with one being able to be more than 40 inches. All fish 30 - 40 inches must be released. Back bays hold pike as they go through the various stages of the spawn.  Deadbait under a bobber, spinners, spoons and shallow diving crankbaits are all viable options.   Four Mile Bay, Bostic Bay and Zippel Bay are all small water and boats of various sizes work well. On the Rainy River...  Great news this week as we learned sturgeon will not be placed on the endangered species list by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.     The organization had to make a decision by June 30 and listing sturgeon could have ended sturgeon fishing.  Thankfully, after looking at the many success stories across the nation, including LOW and the Rainy River, sturgeon fishing and successful sturgeon management continues.   A good week sturgeon fishing on the Rainy River.  Speaking to some sturgeon aficionados, fishing will actually get even better as water temps rise.     Four Mile Bay at the mouth of the Rainy River near the Wheeler's Point Boat Ramp is still producing good numbers of fish, as are various holes along the 42 miles of navigable Rainy River from the mouth to Birchdale.   The sturgeon season continues through May 15th and resumes again July 1st.   Oct 1 - April 23, Catch and Release April 24 - May 7, Harvest Season May 8 - May 15, Catch and Release May 16 - June 30, Sturgeon Fishing Closed July 1 - Sep 30, Harvest Season If you fish during the sturgeon harvest season and you want to keep a sturgeon, you must purchase a sturgeon tag for $5 prior to fishing.    One sturgeon per calendar year (45 - 50" inclusive, or over 75"). Most sturgeon anglers are either a glob of crawlers or a combo of crawlers and frozen emerald shiners on a sturgeon rig, which is an 18" leader with a 4/0 circle hook combined with a no roll sinker.  Local bait shops have all of the gear and bait. Up at the NW Angle...  A few spots with rotten ice, but as a rule, most of the Angle is showing off open water.  In these parts, most are looking ahead to the MN Fishing Opener.  Based on late ice fishing success, it should be a good one.

Nice fish. I moved to the Sartell area last summer and just thought it was windy like this everyday up here? 🤭

Crazy windy again today.... This is has been the norm this spring. Between the wind and the cold fronts, fishing has been more challenging for me than most years.  Panfish have been moving in and out of the shallows quite a bit. One day they are up in the slop, the next they are out relating to cabbage or the newly sprouting lilly pads.  Today eye guy and I found them in 4-5 ft of water, hanging close to any tree branches that happened to be laying in the water.  Bigger fish were liking a 1/32 head and a Bobby Garland baby shad.   Highlight of the day way this healthy 15incher
