Where are the channel cats at...?

Don't see much input on channel cats here. Anyone been catching any right now? Or know of any places that may have some? Thanks.

Fountain Lake in Albert Lea has a lot of channel cats. I have had 0 luck getting them through the ice though. Can't figure it out.

Fountain and Roberds have a bunch of channel cats, but all the lakes in the state pale in comparison to the Sauk River Chain of Lakes. We're talking at least an order of magnitude difference in population. I spent some time one winter trying to run into some channels locally and couldn't do it. The folks I talk to on area lakes where there are cats only get them incidentally. The Sauk Chain is worth the drive. Check out the St. Cloud thread Cattin the Chain to get some more ideas. I was at the Meth hole the other day and it looked almost like swiss cheese.

For those who have not been to the Horseshoe chain, the Meth hole is a location on the lake. Just wanted to make that clear.

And for the tweekers out there...its not a drug hole. lol Its the gases that are coming up from the bottom. :p
