It's all my fault

Last years early spring led to a pretty sub-par spring wally bite.

Now, the poorly timed early snow has screwed up ice travel and the X-tra cold temps have the fish off the bite.

Why??

Easy...we bought a cabin up there last spring!!

You have to take the good with the bad. There will be other days that will remind you why you chose this area to buy a cabin.

You have to look at the bright side traveler. The wild rice market collapsed 2 years ago and isn't looking good for the future. Logging has taken a major hit the past few years and now the loggers still trying to survive have a winter with very little or no frost in the woods. The lake doesn't have enough ice and way too much snow for good fishing. All of that wipes out 90% of the economy around here. Come spring you'll be the only one with any money around here. You'll be the Tycoon of Waskish. gringrin

Kelly, I would think you could apply for a Stimulus Check from the govt. It seems everyone else did and got bailed out. Why should you be any different. That should work, right??????? frown

What you should do kelly-p is run for political office! Once you become an Honorable (?) highly esteemed member of the US congress, the first thing they do is grant you a free license to steal! If that doesn't pan out, you could always become an illegal alien! grin :D1DIRTBALL wink

If I look around the lake and start feeling sorry for myself I think of a logger that logged out in the swamp beyond our fields last winter. A nice young guy working hard in an occupation that is already struggling with his Dad and Wife helping him. Due to the early breakup last spring he was unable to get all of the wood he had cut hauled out. Now with no frost this winter he can not get back there with a road to haul the wood out. frown Worked at that for months and spent all the money on fuel and repairs. Then can't get payed because he can't haul the wood out to sell.
