I am looking to call in some coyotes and I have a Holwer and a rabbit distress call. Should I start with the howler or the distress call and how long should my sequences be?

Start with about a ten to fifteen second distress sequence, not too loud, then wait a couple minutes repeat, a tad louder. Keep doing it until you get to a loud sequence and are sure nothing is coming in. Even with my electronic caller, I have never had much luck howling. Randy Anderson is amazing with his howling.......also remember that rabbits don't have big lungs so long squealing doesn't sound natural. Remember also the rabbit is in pain, you should think about being in pain as you squeal

different strokes for different folks. No one caller sounds the same or uses the same sequence. Different months in the year dictates what sounds I will use. Early fall months, distress sounds and pup distress, maybe a few pup howls. December months, NO HOWLS pups are dispersing and are not looking for a butt kicking they are very timid. January - early Feb, Lots of "lone Howls" and distress. Feb - April, basically only a variety of howls. Summer months are a different game. When I use my ecaller, I turn in on and dont turn it off for about 10-12 minutes. then turn it of for a few minutes and then back on.
