North Center Kids Fishing Question

Recommended Posts

My brother has a place on the lake and my nephew wants to try ice fishing again...last time he was 5 now he is 7 and he thinks its worth another chance. Any tips for the North end of North Center I know he is going to want to say close to the cabin if he gets board or cold. Any depths to look for? THanks

Have him check out the deep water in that area. Depending on where the cabin is there should be some close by. Caught lots of smaller crappies suspended over the deep water up there. Seems like every time I go up that way it doesn't take much time to find them. Like I said before they seem to be rather small but they make the kids smile.

Thanks a ton, just looking for something that will bite to keep the interest up and have a good time. Thanks

Can a guy drive a Tahoe out there or do I need to bring a sled to get around on that part of the lake? I am hopeing the truck will be fine but not familar with the lake.

Yep, as the above poster pointed out. THere should be a city of houses up there. Not sure you will catch anything of size, but can probably keep the kid busy. Otherwise, right in the town of center city there is a small deeper hole right off hwy 8 that holds fish from time to time. may be worth checking out.

Ice fishing was a hit!!! My nephew was out for 2 hr, and had a blast, we had a couple crappies but I think he had more fun popping heads off the minnows. Thanks again for the help.

Cool. Glad he had a good time. I always like to see kids catch fish. Might have to take my 3 yr old out their to catch some when it warms up some more.
