Jiffy zip-on auger covers?

Question

Posted

I saw one of these today and thought it might be a good way to keep snow and moisture off of my throttle cable and other parts when I set the auger down.

I'm wondering from those of you who have one, can it be put on right after you drill? Or do you have to sit and wait for it to cool so the muffler doesn't burn it? I couldn't make a good guess considering the plastic guard over the muffler and the nylon of the cover. Thanks.

I have had one for the past few seasons and it does serve it's purpose well. It's nice when it's snowing or in freezing rain to keep the power head dry thus keeping throtle from sticking.

Can you put it one right away after running the auger, or do you have to wait for it to cool?

I've got a strikemaster cover for my solo. I can put it on right when I'm done drilling holes, but there is a plastic guard over the muffler, not sure if the jiffy's have this?

Thanks...the Jiffy does have it, I just didn't know if it would be enough to protect the cover.
