Well if you're sick of Pelican anyway, why not just try Swede out yourself and report back, instead of hoping someone else does the work for you?

We went there last year a few times, it was slow.

but we didn't really try too hard either.

Just went out and sat in one spot.

I did have one of my strangest fishing experiences on that lake though.

I was checking the depth with a clip on weight, and caught a tiny perch.

Fished it some last year. Did okay early ice but dropped off big time after that. Very hit and miss and size was Ok at best. Less crowded than Pelican but for a reason.

Dude, Matt, that crappie is huge.

That's all. Noticed it before, but for some reason it jumped off of the page today.

Impressive.

Was out there early ice. It was on and off. Definately a day bite lake due to poor water clarity. Did have a few real good days. 8am-1pm. they really shut off at night. Sniffers, no biters. I was out last year and year before. Not much different to be honest. Don't go there with high expectations and you'll be fine. There are a few other lakes within prob 10 miles that I would hit before sweede though like the lake that that big crappy on that avitar was caught. If any advice though... Time is more important on sweede than location. I was anywhere from 9-12 feet of water. Depth really didn't matter. It was all time. Try glow, scents, and rattles to improve chances. Good chance it freezes out this year. Early ice and alot of snow are going to do this to alot of small lakes with minimal flowage. good luck.
