Updated Reef Report 1/18/11

red lake adv.

The walleyes are biting in deeper water [12-13ft]. All the rentals that actually fished instead of partied and slept caught nice numbers, with many over the slot released. Less bling was required as the pressure change from the latest round of little storms went though. The Gov,Pam and I ripped a limit of beauties in less than 2 hours. Less hardware was the key with small ratsos and smaller jigging spoons being the ticket. Most of my anglers reported a nice night flurry, with 8-12pm being best. Fisherman need to pay attention to their barometers more, because with all the changes as of late, these fish respond by hitting smaller presentations as the change occurs.Steady weather of any kind will turn the fish back on to larger profile baits. As a post note we are seeing more nice perch being added to the buckets. This bodes well to adding a few more keepers to the fillet table. As for crappies, keep your lips tight! Good luck,RLA.

The 'Reef" and "Center Bar" are 2 completely different places miles apart and on different parts of the lake.
