leave house on lake?

I am going out of Rogers with my house Saturday through Monday this weekend. I will also be back out of rogers again Thursday through Sunday the next week. Is it typically pretty safe to leave your house on the ice unattended up there that long as long as you have it blocked up pretty well and leave nothing valuable in it or are you better off pulling it into rogers or even pulling it all the way home? I can do either, just thinking it would be nice to not have to cut all new holes, rebank, and all that stuff if I find decent fishing by the end of the weekend. Thanks for information.

I would check with the resort or road operater you are using but I wouldn't leave a house out with this much snow and flooding. One good wind and a big drift gets created around your house you will have flooding and freshly washed carpet when you return.

Wow, thats a tough question. I would not chance it. I have never had a problem on URL, but I have ran into some pretty strange people up there.

Theft and vandilism is uncommon up here as locals are always watching and very vigalant but mother nature can be cruel and she has a very sick sense of humor.

3 days? I would consult the weather dot com and pin down the forecast, then make your own judgement. If you are going out of Rogers, maybe give Portavilla a case or 20 spot to check your house once or twice a day to make sure there is no ruffians in or around it.

Or give me the keys and I will sit in it for ya on Tues and Wed. grin

Jonny stated it right mother nature is more of a problem. I wouldn't bring it home just bring it to shore. If wind and snow is not in the forecast shouldn't be a problem.

Thanks. I will probably just pull it up to shore unless the weather looks perfect for those three days (which I doubt up there it ever does). We will see though.

Chris, I emailed you about plowing me out a spot to set the house down too. Do you prefer beer or cash?

I helped a young guy from the cities named Ed on monday. They had left there house about 50 yards off the main road for two weeks. As i plowed up to the house nothing but slush. They could not beleave it. They had hoped to fish there but I convinced them to move so I had them break it loose. I them spun it around and got it back to the main road where we found them a new spot. Nice young guys that have now become friends. They helped me move four houses this week. I will have to have help next year as I'm getting older and the body is getting worn out.

Fortunately the house was fine and no real slush or issues. It was a slow bite though. Finicky fish and couldn't get anything to hit jigs. Prolly the slowest bite I have ever had on red.
