Am I safe to drive a full size truck on mazaska yet I think I'm heading that way tomorrow I just don't want to fall through the ice. I always hate the first time of the year driving out there. Thanks

I drove a half ton out there today, I was on 16" of good ice, went out through the bulrush access

i was out last weekend and there was a bunch of truck of all sizes out....... which doesnt mean its safe everywhere, i still walked.

In made my first trip out with the truck yesterday It seems to be fine out there. although i was on the wheeler monday and one spot i was on only had 10 inches but otherwise never seen less than 15 you should be fine.

Gas station/Bait store is open and they open early in the am... I don't have a specific time that they open but im thinking 6 am

I think morneau is right on the time of the gas station, fishing has been pretty good out there it seems like the bite doesnt really start until about 7:30am and can last most of the morning, think deep, good luck

red spikes was the ticket for me today, pulled a 20" and a 18" northern on a crappie minnow too

Nobody wants to put the truck through the ice , ice is never 100% safe to drive on. so alway trust your own judgement berfore any thing you read here. but that being said I have driven on it multiple times already freely. I did hear one spot of 8" of ice on mazaska as of yesterday. but personally every where I drilled 15 + "
