Water Clarity in the Duluth Area

To the spearers in the area, just curious if you've noticed any one lake thats better than the others in the area for water clarity. The places I've been on fish so far this year have been extremely murky, i've tried grand in the past and it's been relatively clear, is that the case this year? I just want to take the girlfriend out so she can get a chance at spearing her first pike, don't need specific info on spots just water clarity, I'll be getting out to check some spots on my own on friday but a little help never hurt!

Grand lake is a good start.

That big rain we had really messed up water clarity on most bodies of water around here. Its getting better but still not as good as it could be.

I've been using an underwater camera this winter and visibility steadily gone down on the Clear lakes, more so then the norm.

It is to the point of leaving the camera home.

Best bet it to pick a sunny day and hit the 5' mark tops. Stick the house so your not casting a shadow in your "window".

The reservoirs are going to be bog stained of coarse. Grand isn't all that clear this winter clean enough to spear.
