I have gone out of Hunters twice. It is quite at drive at the requested speed limit. Not to many people out that far. I have heard also the casino access is also open. Im sure there are a few on the west side. Good luck. Will be up saturday through monday myself!

So far i have got a perch off a mud flat yet i have tried blue jug, boot, 8 mile, 9 mile, 7 mile, center, fishers, and some other. Only time i have caught perch so far has been in reefs and gravel bars.

I was up there with a buddy this last sunday and were out on one of the mud flats. Think why people arent finding fish is because they are too shallow. We set up by accident in 35 fow on the bottom edge of the flat. By the time i realized we were deeper than i wanted to be we already had house set up so we tried it for a while (especially since hummingbird was marking fish). Fished from 1pm to 6pm and ended up with 4 nice perch and 3 keeper walleyes. Also caught 2 dinks we threw back and had 2 other nice ones on and lost them. All in all not too bad of a trip. Hopefully be back this weekend.

if you check out the edge of the flats the bottom that is theres a transtion from mud to really soft bottom out aways from the flat when we were looking for big fish in tournaments that were went for big fish

i'm not much of a perch fisherman but i think the deeper you on those flats the nicer the perch you will find

All the perch (and some eye's) we've caught this year are full of those little inch long black worms(they look like small leeches)but their some type of blood worm.I think the fish are pulling them from the mud.c63

Gophers - we were set up in 35 ft of water right on the bottom edge of the flat. Just a few feet from us the depth started coming up onto the flat. All the fish we caught came right off the bottom with a mix of jigging spoons and set lines.
