Vikes and Vince Young

I honestly think that the biggest problem is Darrell Bevell.

Darrell Bevell is not the problem. The fact that the offensive line cant block is the problem! Not Bevell's fault that McKinnie cant pick up a speed guy on the outside or that Sullivan gets his arse blown off the ball every play. You also arent going to win many games when your 1, 2, and 3 WRs are Bernard Berrian, Greg Lewis, and Kendra Basket. Minus Percy and Rice our WR created ZERO separation this year for our QBs to throw to as they were getting massacred by the opposing pass rush. The season would have been way different had Percy and Rice been healthy all year.

To answer the original post, I'd say that the Vikings could pick up Young along with another talent without breaking the bank. Headcase? Possibly, but just like Jamarcus Russell I won't throw them into the "never" category until they've had another chance.

As someone said, the team and the system can make all of the difference. Some of these kids need a different support system. Others need a different scheme. Others need a different coach. Others just needed to fail in order to realize what they need to do in order to succeed.

Those QBs were great in college and I don't believe that the pro game is unattainable for "dumb" quarterbacks. When these big names fail, I often wonder how good of a job they did coaching and transitioning these players into the NFL.

The Vikings are a mess offensively. Keep Joe Webb, bring in Vince Young, draft a pocket passer, and find one more "safe" veteran option. Somebody should be able to produce with the offensive weapons that the Vikings possess.

I honestly think that the biggest problem is Darrell Bevell.

Thank You! At least someone get it!

The O-line is a sieve.

The O-line is a sieve.

Frazier identified that as a problem and is looking for a new o-line coach. Read about that the other day. All I can say is that I am glad he recognizes the problems with the team and is doing something about it. Zone blocking scheme never caught on. It's nice to see that he identified that other position coaches weren't doing a good job in player development and are no longer with team. It's exciting at the people he is interviewing to hire.
