Best West Side Access?

Hi,

I'm looking to go out towards Sherman's Flat on Friday. Does anyone have any suggestions for the best access point from the West Side? Either public or resort? I'd be taking my vehicle, not an ATV or snowmobile. I usually head out of Rocky Reef in the winter, but I'd like to try somewhere further north. Thanks for the information, I'll post if I do any good.

i Believe terry's plows a road there but if you have a good truck you can probably get there from the public access. I drove it on friday last week

Thanks for the information. I made it out yesterday from about 10-5 and was able to drive right out of the casino access. It was really rough where people had driven during the slush, I'd suggest driving off to the side of the regular tracks.

It was almost a white-out yesterday, but I headed to Indian Point and tried on some shallower rock piles (13-18') and didn't do any good. Moved to 32' near the point and got into a massive school of tulibee. I could have caught them all day long. Wind was so bad I didn't feel like moving, so I stuck it out and managed a few walleye and jumbo perch mixed in with the tulibee, all on a live minnow.

Around 3 when the wind went down, I headed to Sherman's and set up a the bottom of the slope in 32'. Should have went there right away. I caught about 8 walleyes and 6 jumbo's in about an hour and a half. A few were small, but I ended up with my 4 and quite a few jumbo's. All of the bigger walleyes were on a Kastmaster, but the live minnow kept getting hit too.

Drifts were big by the time I headed in, but I could still drive everywhere. Did have to cross a few pressure ridges, but they were pretty small and froze over.
